Default Most gained, most lost, in one fight.

With some big fights coming up soon, especially the UNDEFEATED fights(Cal v Kess and PBF v Hatton), and with potentially so much to gain for the winner and so much to lose for the fighter defeated it got me to thinking.
In which fight in histoy has one fighter gained the most while his defeated opponent has lost the most?

MAB v NAZ immediately came to mind for me. MAB was an established fighter but the win over NAZ really put him into the spotlight, especially as the fight followed his losses to Junior Jones and Erik Morales. His stature and popularity really went up from that point onwards.
On the flip side NAZ disappeared into obscurity....

What other single fights have had this much effect on two fighters careers?

    Douglas vs Tyson
    JCC vs Meldrick Taylor 1
    Lewis vs Ruddock
    Jones vs Tarver 2
    Curry vs Honeyghan

I'll think of some more later.

    Good choices.
I especially like Curry v Honeyghan.
Of late Pavlik v Miranda. That really changed the Middleweight division.

I dunno about Rahman Lewis. Everyone knew it was a fluke and Lewis proved it in the rematch.

Thanls they are all good choices.
Cant believe i left out Kostya over Zab!!! Zab went from being the next big thing in boxing to the next big thing in break dancing with one killer right hand from KT, and it exposed Kostya to the big US audiences.

Yeah Kostya/Zab would be my pick; possibly also Spinks/Tyson also I mean, that was an embarassment. Golata/Bowe I and II. What an idiot Goloata was

I dont think KT was shot, maybe past his best but still good. I think maybe by fighting in Rickys home town with a british ref he bit off more than he could chew to make some good money. It def gained Hatton a lot of respect as well.

How can it gain him respect? Everyone NOW says he was a shot fighter going in there. Somehow the guy who blew Sharmba into the weeds (yet again) was now a 'done' fighter because rick beat him?
