Default British Boxing & Inconsitant Rounds Per Fight

Something that puzzles me about the fight game in Britain is the inconsistency in rounds per fight during many careers.

I've noticed that a great number of fighters from that part of the world will fight a 12 rounder than a few 6 rounders. A ten rounder, on to another 6 and then maybe another 12 or possibly a 4 round fight.

    Why is this?

Well going from a 12 rounder to a 4/6/8 probably indicates they lost and are being given a few confidence builders

Zab Judah is doing this in his next fight. He's doin a ten rounder.
He also did that when he came back after Mayweateher beat him.

Well, a 10 rounder is typical for a nontitle fight...

Thing is, we saw what happened when David Haye got it in his head that he wanted to go 12 rounds, and it made for a really dull fight, I think the shorter distances make for more exciting fights if there is no title on the line, because it makes fighters make the moves early on and not just put in a dull performance, fighting the last 30 seconds of each round to conserve energy.
