The welterweight division, traditionally one of the best in boxing, is just fascinating these days. One could argue that several of boxing’s p4p top dogs reside in that division. And the depth of talent is just enormous. But what really fascinates me about the division is how the tide constantly shifts and changes.

I think a big winner from the Quintana-Williams fight was Miguel Cotto. After Cotto soundly KO’ed Quintana, people were quick to dismiss Quintana as some overrated bum who had gotten lucky against Joel Julio. However, after having convincingly beaten Williams, Quintana is now again being viewed as a force in the WW division. All of which makes Cotto’s victory over him even more impressive.
