Default Hatton to fight Isaac Hlatshwayo?

Don't know what to make of this. Why would Hatton fight a WW when there's a queue forming for him a Jr WW? Not seen this guy fight, anyone else? Judging by his record he's not a KO puncher - maybe that's what Ricky wants after PBF.

    Article from Boxing Scene:

According to the South African Broadcasting Corporation, Isaac Hlatshwayo (27-1, 9KOs) is a frontrunner to fight Ricky Hatton (43-1, 31KOs) on May 24 in Manchester. Hlatshwayo, the current IBO welterweight champion, would moved to 140-pounds to challenge Hatton, the IBO's junior welterweight champ.

Hlatshwayo's only loss was at the hands of Kendall Holt. He was dropped three times on route to losing by way of a wide unanimous decision.

He's obviously still having delusions of grandeur at 147. He should have done this the 1st time around. What's after Hlatshwayo, a jump down to fight Urango and then call out Mayweather again? Good luck to him, but I think that hit on the head courtesy of the post wreaked havoc on his frontal lobe and medulla oblangata

That's as handpicked an opponent as Hatton could find, if there is any truth to this.. Isac is ok, I saw him fight Nate Campbell to a SD I think, but it was more an off night for Nate than anything special.. He looked very susceptible to a strong body attack, Campbell was having his way easily on the inside when he wanted to. He also fought him at lightweight then moved up and lost to Holt at 140 so the idea that Hatton is fighting another WW is way off..

I heard Hatton is also considering Juan Lazcano. What a coward Hatton is. He should be fighting Witter.

What a coward Maywather is for not fighting Cotto and instead choosing a part time fighter in ageing ODLH

Unless this fight is at 140 Hatton won't fight him.

Hatton has had 4 opponents to consider for the May clash I heard and they were Herman Ngoudjo, Paul Malignaggi, Juan Lacanzo and Ricardo Torres so he'll fight one of those probbably and would whoop every one of them anyway.

Isaac who??...Poor pick from Ricky if this comes off.

What's the bet Witter will pipe up aswell, and so he should really alot of very casual boxing fans i know say they want Hatton-Witter.

I cant see why Ricky would bother this this I mean he builds up all the steam in America, no sense in taking a step back. The loss to mayweather has hit home alot harder than Ricky let's on maybe.

For a comeback fight could be worse I guess.

Holt was a terrible style for Hlatshwayo, he's better when guys are in front of him. He's not gonna win but I don't see an early blow out or anything.

I dunno, I just remember how well Nate Campbell was doing going to the body in spurts and doing some infighting in one of his sleepwalk performances.. Seem's to me like their only looking at this guy because Hatton should have no problems with him. Maybe Isac's tougher than I think, but Hatton is a good body puncher when he can land.

According to Sky News this fight is happening May 20somethingth at Man City's ground. They'd better put a big tarpaulin up over the ring because you just know it's going to piss down.

The Witter bottler deserves a "gimme", I guess, but i'd sooner watch him batter the likes of Rees or Colin Lynes than go through the motions bashing-up world ranked no-name.
