Default De La Hoya-Forbes, Does Forbes Have A Chance?

Forbes can not stop De La Hoya, probably cant hurt him, but can he outwork him over the stretch? I believe he can, not that he will, but he can especially if Oscars punch output is as low as I think it will be. More importantly what happens if Forbes make Oscar look like sh@t? If Oscar barely gets by Forbes or looks old and like a washed up fighter, that can effect his rematch with Mayweather which already has no interest with the fans. De La Hoya-Mayweather II becomes a harder sell.

really comes down to conditioning. If ODLH prepares well and is 100% then he'll prob TKO forbes. If he takes it too easily tho, and Forbes gets thru the early rounds, u may see steve come on and win a few rounds late when DLH gases.

I think Oscar will win late TKO tho. only about a 2% chance he loses. I think part of he contract might include a clause that says.
'Steve u are making more money than u ever have and probably deserve, in return u must lose and make Oscar look good. Failure to do this will result in u being on cards in Paris Arkansas for the rest of your boxing career.'

I really hope forbes out hustles the Glamour queen but its an up hill battle. This fight just "smells".Not to question forbes integrity at all but He was hand picked as a fall guy off Bad call vs. Hopkins.looked good peppering Bojado though and at least he'll make some nice dough..Im just So tired of Oscar and have no interest what so ever in rematch with Mayweather. He needs to stick to promoting and step out of the spotlight.

It's boxing so theres always a chance but IMO it's very slim for Forbes.

Demetrius Hopkins won an extremely controversial decision over Forbes at 140. Grady Brewer beat Forbes also.
His best days are left behind and his output may not be at it's best anymore, even against a fighter his own size.

Against De la Hoya his work will be ineffectual as De la Hoya possesses both a solid chin and body. (A punch from a Middleweight Hopkins will not dissuade that logic.) Forbes physicallly cannot exert his will on the golden boy and does not have the advantage in skill to dominate him in a chess match.

De la Hoya will stop Forbes.

He wouldn't have been picked for the exhibition if he had a chance.

Forbs should think about stashing a weapon in his shorts.....other than that i give him no chance. Anything is possible though...he could trip swing his arm and catch oscar in the liver on accident. I'm probably being too harsh forbs isn't bad imo just outmatched.

The only way Forbes has a chance of winning this fight is by knockout because I've seen Forbes on the losing end of some huge robberies, and the judges have always (excluding the Trinidad fight) been more than generous to Delahoya.

If the DLH camp actually thought Forbes had a chance, then there's no way they would have agreed to fight him. Because this is a tuneup fight and there's no way Oscar wants to risk losing the millions he'll make off a rematch with Floyd.

The only way this fight is close is if Forbes fights the fight of his life, Oscar gets old overnight, and Oscar shows up out of shape and distracted.
What are the odds of all of those things happening? Slim to none.

I would love to see the upset though.

If Forbes actually beat ODH, he'd probably have to free the city like Butch Coolidge. Maybe ODH could dress himself up all pretty again and play the role of the gimp.
