If he were to fight Pavlik after Jones, which i think he may do and defeats them both, what else could you ask...

he will hav the old master and new kid on the block!!

in my opinion that would put calzaghe just behind RJJ on an all time p4p list.

As much as I like JC I think a fight with Pavlik might be a bit much for him.

After the mega bucks he will get for a RJJ fight will his heart still be in it? Or is he just after a legend killer status?

I hate to say it but if Joe does not fight Pavlik it will seem to me like unfinished busness.

A bit unfair to Calzaghe after all he has done but thats what it will seem like to me.

If he does in fact beat RJJ and Pavlik, There truly would be nothing anyone could say about his legacy, but while his chances against RJJ are promising at this juncture (I'm still picking Jones Jr. though) Pavlik would just be too much for him.

Honestly from JC's standpoint a fight again Pavlik gives him too much to lose, there is much to gain, but everything would be no the line for him at that point legacy wise, everything.

There is always doubt. Boxing judging is not an exact science. I thought b hopkins pull out a W against Joe C. What if JC wins close split D's over Roy and Ghost do U think there will be no doubt. Boxing judging, if U like it or not is basicaly about opinion, Politics and the next big thing. If U dont believe me just watch Larry Holmes vs. Mike Spinx second fight. Powers didnt want Holmes any more. Leonard vs Hagler. B Hops wasnt wanted no more by the powers that be. Fight could have went either way but I knew Taylor would get the decision. Look at the whole picture and understand that politics is the underlining factor in Razor Sharp Decisions.

Beating Pavlik would help his all-time standing, but I don't know about Roy at this stage in his career.

oh but there will still be doubters, say if Froch was to beat Taylor then Calzaghe will get shit for not fighting him.

I think calzaghe will actually fight pavlik after he and roy become gazallionaires. It just seems to me that way if pavlik and his camp can keep it up and continually call joe out he's going to get in the ring with pavlik sometime early next year and then leave the sport and still have doubters. I think joe has basically become one of those fighters that no matter whom he fights someone's always going to come up and doubt him, I definitely much rather see him go out in a fight against a prime pavlik then a pretty shot roy though.

If Calzaghe beats Jones then they will say that Roy was shot which lets be honest, he is. He isnt a prime Roy. And if Calzaghe loses then he lost to a shot Roy Jones so it ruins his legacy

The last time I picked against Joe C. was against Lacy. But I gotta hunch that Roy wins this fight, Calzaghe looked small against Hopkins and he will look real small against Roy.

Roy is gonna hit a helluva lot harder than B-Hop and be twice as fast. Calzaghe won his fight against B-Hop convincingly, but was not as dominant as I expected him to be. I think that Hopkins size and power was the reason why.

Jones is bigger than B-Hop, much faster, but most importantly.......... can match his work rate if needed.

RJJ is diminished for sure, but is far from "shot."

Yeah but the thing is he isnt as active as he used to be and is very selective. And as with Hopkins he may hand the bigger cleaner shots but Joe can outwork him whether he is landing or not. Jones isnt as active and Joe may be hitting arms and gloves but he;d get the round. If Roy is gonna win he has to truly be active and I don't know if he can anymore. I'll be rooting for him though.
