    Default Speed Bags.

    Hey I'm new to this sght, as well as boxing. I have one question does a speed bag improve your punching abilities. Such as your punches being harder and faster Does a speed bag do this?

    for the most part it is for reflexes.

    If you're working at the speedbag with enough intensity, your shoulders will burn. The speedbag greatly increases shoulder muscular endurance, which is essential in boxing. Also, hand speed and reflexes, as well as devlopping rythm.

    It will also improve your, 'hand to eye coordination'

    absoulotely not, if you want to increase you're punching power you should buy a heavybag.

    I believe it improves speed, timing stamina etc all of which help build a more powerfull punch. All though it does depend on how you are hitting the speed bag most of all

    No such thing as a dumb question. I belive it does improve your speed.

    Building strength from the speed bag, hit it as hard as you can, trying to get as many bounces as you can, an keep on trying to add more bounces. So like try for 6 then 7 and what not.

    I belive it makes your punches faster....which means a harder punch to answer your question.....more speed=harder the hit
