Default If Lacy Fights Taylor, Froch Fights Pascal

    from fightnews.

Pascal who is rated #2 WBO, #3 WBA, #3 IBF and #4 WBC has yet another purse-bid scheduled for August in Mexico to meet Denis Inkin for the number one spot in the WBC, but at this point even that is unsure. Right now everything is hinging on this Wednesday’s fight between Jeff Lacy and Epifanio Mendoza. With the WBC title vacant it is Jermain Taylor currently sitting at number three who is in the driver’s seat. The former undisputed middleweight champ has the option of fighting top-ranked Carl Froch for the vacant belt or fighting Lacy if left-hook looks up to the test based on Wednesday’s fight. Should the two former Olympic teammates collide, it would likely be Pascal fighting Froch for the title.

I think the contract stipulates that neither fighter is allowed to hold more then one hand above the waist at a time.

Well I must admit I would much rather see the Taylor-Froch fight whatever happens tomorrow. Lacy just hasn't looked upto it since Calzaghe and I have some questions on Froch that would be answered by a fight with Taylor.

I think Taylor takes it Tko vs. Lacy right now, straight shots and shifts would take a toll.Taylor needed to go up and Lacy is somewhat worn.I think Lacy stamps out Mendoza coming up,good to see his condition.

Lacy will win the odds are -1200/+600 . Those are crazy ass odds for Lacy, the other person must not have a pulse.

I don't know who's putting those numbers out, but I have serious reservations that the fight will be a blow out by that much, unless Mendoza is gonna be drugged or something. Seriously there must be something in Lacy that I'm missing.

Personally I don't think Lacy looked that good before Calzaghe.

I too would rather see Taylor-Froch. Taylor is still new to the division and Froch would be able to finally have a good answer to the question "who have you fought?"

Well Lacy's defense has always been shit, but his offense I thought was actually pretty good. I love how he mixes it up to the head and body. I haven't seen him fight since that Tsypko guy, tho.
    Oops

I would be happy with Pascal if Taylor chooses Lacy. Pascal has proved he is decent and would be a good test for Froch. Both hungry and undefeated, lets hope Pascal is up for it.

Does anybody actually know when the confirmation of this fight is going to be ? I guess if Lacy wins tonight in style he will offer taylor out im guessing? I would prefer Taylor-Froch but Pascal-Froch will do me.

Taylor in my opinion is one of the most adaptave boxers in the ring. I really think Taylor - Froch would be a one sided whooping. I see him beat Lacy too. I think Taylor could be the next big thing at 168 belt wise. Thats if Pavlik stays at 160.

    Only somewhat related:

Just noticed on Boxrec that Inkin fought yesterday (6 round UD against a 6-1 fighter).

What's up with that, and what's up with Inkin in general? Where does he fit in this picture - he was supposed to fight Froch first after all.
