Default Top Top 10 Favorite Personalities In Boxing- All Time

No Particular order yet, but I think Ali was the most charismatic champion of all time. Even now, when hes on TV, I always watch. If he in the paper, I always read it. Just a remarkable person.

    2. Roberto Duran
    3. George Foreman
    4. Mike Tyson
    5. Teddy Atlas
    6. Bernard Hopkins
    7. Emmanuel Steward
    8. Roy Jones Jr.
    9. Jake LaMotta
    10. Floyd Patterson

Sometimes I like the fighters who are a little more charasmatic outside the ring, but most of the time they end up making themselves a bit twaty... Like Mundine.. His boxing earnt him some respect from me, he mouth annoyed the hell out of me.. I didn't mind Roy Jones, and kind of hated mayweather but loved him at the same time..

I like guys like Pac, Margarito, Corrales etc who are really professional and obviously have a lot of respect for life and everything else.. And Boxing is just a part of it... I always say boxing can never have enough personalities like that...

However, the loudmouth types are like a "love 'em or hate 'em" type thing and they are good for the sport as well.. Especially if you love them...

I get where your coming from. Just cos a guy is loud and talks trash dont mean he is charismatic. I like the guys u mentioned who just let their fists do the talking. My all time favourite fighter Tszyu was the same.

It's hard to pick ten that stand out on the plus side because of their personalities, there's lots of people in the business I like, it's easier to pick 10 who stand out on the down side, but here goes, in no particuilar order...

Alexis Arguello - A true gentleman, personified the word respect.
George Foreman - Don't know that he had a personality back in the '70s, but late in his career, and as an announcer, he's hard not to like.
Bernard Hopkins - Hard to find a reason why, I just like him. Kinda like cheering for the bad guy.
Marvin Hagler - As much as anyone, he had the heart of a champion.
Lennox Lewis - for his Canadian roots.
Howard Cosell - Back then, a pompous ass. Now? Pure nostalgia.
Muhammed Ali - A great interview, funny guy, Did a lot to help out the less fortunate.
George Chuvalo - Paid some horrendous dues post boxing, but always held his head high and tried to remain positive.

can't really think of anyone else. I will give an honorable mention to Antonio Tarver. He'll always be one of my heroes, for his slap down of the hot dog they called RJJ.

One from a century ago. Al Herford, the trainer of Joe Gans. He was so interesting that H.L. Mencken wrote "A Master of Gladiators" about him.
