Not often, but it does happen,Im pretty sure DLH/Hopkins Hopkins broke his rib. The way DLH dropped,it looked like a broken rib to me.Didnt go in to his lung, but that cant happen.

Nooooooo way. Guys with broken ribs don't thump the canvas in frustration, then flash their million dollar smile around. That was just a good hard liver shot. Look at the way Mayorga took body shots from Tito and kept getting up. Oscar that night? SOFT.

You want to see a rib break, look at Roy Jones putting the hurt on Virgil Hill.

Of course long term damage can occur, but the most immediate danger is to the kidneys and liver. The bruising of these is what would stimulate a fighter to pass blood after a fight and continued bleeding is obviously not a good sign.

Odd...I thought you were SUPPOSED to pass blood after a good body shot.

this has happened to me after a few of my amatuer fights, not a major amount but enough to make it go a real dark orange colour

I have not pissed blood. I have nearly thrown up on my sparring partners shoes tho. Would serve him right for delivering that horrible, horrible left hook body shot.
