Default Amir Khan vs Andreas Kotelnik fight thread

Gonna be a great night of boxing

Complete pick`em fight if you ask me with khans speed taking on kotelniks durability.

Im gonna stick to my original hunch and go with a late kotelnik stoppage though could quite easily see khan being too quick and getting on top of andreas for a late win.

    no way this goes 12

Im gonna go with Kotelnik stopping him in the 8th, Kotelnik is not the biggest puncher but he still has some under rated power, Amir will end up brawling at some stage and Kotelnik looks very confident. Khan is 4/11 at the moment which I think is way over priced and like you say Hammer its more 50/50 so Kotelnik is great value.

I see Khan taking Kotelnik out late on. He certainly looks confident under roach and is not as ring worn as Kotelnik who has been the distance on many occasion. I wouldn't be over shocked if Khan lost but I'm going for him to win by KO.

bookies will take an absoloute hiding tonight if kotelnik wins and theyve no reason to.

Anyone with any knowledge of the fight game will tell you 2/1 against the champion of the stature of kotelnik against a relative unknown entity is a steal for those backing kotelnik.

It was the same thing when hopkins fought pavlik as a 5/2 underdog despite the fact only a small majority were backing kelly to win

Found this video of Khan sparring..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZrKh...er_profilepageI don't know if it's just me, but I see a few of Pacquiao's moves in there somewhere. Most notably how he leans to the side, and lunges forward with his straight. It's almost a carbon copy of how Manny does it.

I'm going with Khan by TKO in the 8th.

Any idea who his sparring partner was

Actually looked half decent for the 1st 90 seconds or so and mugged khan off a few times when he came inside

Have a look in this video mate. Talks about his main sparring partners, don't know if it was any of the ones in this video though, as this was filmed in mid june.

I'm rooting for Khan. But Koltenik has great defense and will retain his belt via close decision. Like Roach been saying, Khan must conserve his energy and go to the body more. But I belieue Koltenik is the kind that has plan B and C.

That's not true at all. The majority of people were picking Pavlik to beat Hopkins.

As for Khan fight, I want Khan to win but Kotelnik is a very underrated fighter. I think it'll be a close fight that goes to the cards. I wouldn't be surprised to see Khan win an undeserved decision; given the location you have to assume a close fight would go Khan's way.

My mates gone to the fight and he says that they have upgraded his ticket cuz of poor sales so they can try and flog the rest on the doors.

For a world title fight youd expect more support for Kahn but maybe the crowd have had enough of the Warren hype. Confirms my theory that everyone who went in March went to see Barrera

I hope Miles is here to watch the fight live.

I believe Amir is going to come to the ring wearing a crown and to his own recorded rap song

Missy and Miles will surely be here like baying hounds praying for him to get slaughtered again.

I like Khan and hope he wins but at the end of the if he does get knocked out cold again at least it will be funny.

He's the kind of fighter I wish well but like most I do take some small, maybe perverse satisfaction when he gets dropped.

I think for me it's the way he says 'I'm going to be world champion' with that really annyoing gormless rising inflextion when he says 'champion' like he's a delusional child telling his school teachers how he's going to be a cowboy or great magician when he grows up

Undercard starts in 4 minutes. Main event will be around 10:30 - 11:00. Which is 2 hours out.
