just read a brief note that Holt took a beating- the African was too strong for him hoping to catch a stream of the replay later.

Doesn't surprise me though. Holt never impressed me as having a strong chin

Here's the wire story-note Moretti's comments at the end of the srticle

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Philadelphia welterweight Mike Jones remained undefeated Saturday night with a unanimous decision over Henry Bruseles at Bally's Atlantic City.
Former junior-welterwight champ Kendall Holt did not fare as well. With his close friend Brandon Jacobs of the New York Giants looking on, Holt lost his bid to get back into title contention with a sixth-round knockout loss to Kaizer Mabuza.
Jones (20-0, 16 KOs) retained his regional belt, which brings with it a top-10 rating in the WBA. He is ranked eighth by the organization and 11th by the IBF.
Bruseles, who had not lost in five years, kept the fight close early, but Jones dominated down the stretch behind a sharp jab and crisp right hands.
Judges Luis Rivera (97-92), Alan Rubenstein (98-92) and Walast Roldan (98-92) all had Jones winning comfortably, as did the Associated Press (98-92).
"This fight was real important," Jones said. "I'm not disappointed at all (about going the distance). I like going 10 rounds against better competition. He's a veteran."
Mabuza (23-6-3, 13 KOs) became the mandatory challenger for the winner of next Saturday's junior-welterweight unification fight between IBF titleholder Juan Urango and WBC title-holder Devon Alexander at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn.
Mabuza dominated Holt (25-4, 13 KOs), the former WBO champion, using an aggressive style to batter him with body shots and uppercuts.
"I could tell right away that I was too strong for him," Mabuza said. "I could see that he didn't like getting hit to the body and that my uppercuts were hurting him."
After the sixth round, referee Lindsey Page stopped the scheduled 12-round fight on the advice of Holt's trainer, Aroz Gist. Holt and Gist were not available for comment afterward.
"I thought Kendall won the first round, but after that, it was the fastest downhill (slide) in the ring that I've ever seen," said Carl Moretti of promoter Top Rank. "After a while, it was like (Holt) was a heavy bag and he could hit him whenever he wanted.
"I know 20 junior-welterweights that could beat (Holt) right now."

This is what i have been saying about a lot of fighters at 140, in regards to who Khan should fight next. Holt was on a few peoples lists and i questioned what he'd actually done to warrant being a more legitimate opponent than Marquez or Malignaggi. This answers the question. It won't be long until Maidana loses to some unknown.

Maidana can fight! His power is dangerous & Khan knows that! Marquez would definitely be a more legitmate test for Khan but Maidana would be coming to win!!!

Kendall has been off for about a year off a loss and been through a lot of personal stuff outside the ring he wasn't ready for an opponent like that it seems.

I think he's a fighter of average ability with good power and intensity. I can see him getting outboxed quite easily by some fighters at 140, and i don't think it's longefore that happens imo.

I think it's clear to see for everyone that Khan is ducking Kaizer Mabuza

Kaizer would probably beat Floyd as long as he kept his shots straight

I think it's obvious Floyd only made the Mosley fight so he didn't have to get in the ring with 'The Kaizer'. And people say Pac was quick to make a fight with Clottey to avoid Floyd, when in fact he just wanted to avoid the 'Monstor' Mabuza.

As for hypothetical fights, I think Kaizer beats Robinson, Leonard & Hearns on the same night. He's just that good.

Maidana's arguably undefeated! The same can't be said about Khan, the dude was blitzed by an UNKNOWN!!! Sure Maidana can be outboxed but Khan's chin will never hold up. Khan has improved under Roach but he still gets tagged. Khan would get KTFO!!!

Well, he's not, because he lost to Kotelnik. Losing a close fight doesn't make you arguably undefeated.

A good fighter makes light work of Kotelnik.
