Interim Titles

.....are a joke.

I've just noticed that Maidana is due to fight again soon, against DeMarcus Corley.

This will be the third defence of his "interim" WBA title, the one he won from Ortiz, after not winning it against Kotelnik.

Surely the guy deserves a shot at the real title?

They are a joke but so are the regular straps for the most part, they're just another way for the alphabet soups to make more money . I'm just glad to see maidana fight again, considering he's been out the ring for a while and had some big promotional/managerial issues.

Definatley, maybe after he knocks out this guy, we can finally see him in the mix with the top 4 in the division.
