    Default Smith v Degale

Khan v maidana could be interesting but most likely khan will box his way to a relatively easy win

This saturday the one im most looking forward to is smith degale, degale is very inexperienced, when he reaches his prime im sure he will be too much for smith but now im not sure

my money is on a late smith win by stoppage

I expect degale will start better

    what do you reckon?

De gale either on points or stoppage. Smith isn't that good. I hope Smith wins though, not keen on De Gale at all.

Although I dislike De Gale as a person I can't deny he looks to me as though he could well be a true talent. I expect him to totally dominate this fight and finish with a mid to late round stoppage. I think Smith has reached and shown his peak already whereas IMO De Gale hasn't even gotten out of second gear yet. If Smith does force him to do so I expect De Gale to really show some class.

I like Smith quite a bit, I feel he is an under achiever although I have seen some good touches of class in some fights, unfortunatly I think De Gales got to much for him, I dont like De Gales mouth but the boys got some skills, I expect a rough n tough fight with De Gale gaining his spurs.

DeGale stops him in my eyes. I can't see it even making it halfway.

Smith hasn't looked convincing against Dodson or Quigley in his British title fights, and I think this is the one where the new blood takes the title from him, and I'm fancying Degale to give him a bit of a lesson. Warren isn't a chance taker with his hot prospects, and the whole team must be sure Degale is ready before they'd have made the fight. I'm pretty much in agreement that Degale grows into the fight after a fairly cautious start, finishing it mid to late.

i can see why people are strongly siding with degale, smith has failed to really live up to expectations at pro

thing is tho, he's not gonna get KOed early, he's gonna last at least 8 and degale hasnt yet taken a punch as a pro and smith will definately land one or two of those

for all i know degale might have a solid chin, but going 12 rounds for the first time at such an early time in your career against a such a tough man is gonna be very difficult and by round 8 i think the pace might start to take its toll

Degale seems fairly hittable and Smith represents a fairly steep step-up in class so I'm assuming that Degale is gonna taste a fair bit of leather either way.

DeGale hasn't fought anyone by the looks of his record, can he take a shot? He thinks he's Naz or what? He's like Ali G or some shit? He seems like a clowner, probably gonna get sparked.

It's a great fight and a shit fight. I like paul smith and would like to see him win but if he does it destroys a british prospect. Should be an interesting match.

I think the first few rounds will be close then Degale takes over and stops him around the 11th.

Hopefully, if Smith has a bit more nous and heart than Dilks, we get to find that out on Saturday.

    I agree with erica.

I've never rated Smith but think he's being underestimated a little here. He can do the distance. He has a decent punch. He has a decent chin. He has the experience of facing decent fighters. He has home advantage. At worst - he is decent.

DeGale has never fought anyone that's hit him, had the ability to hit him or has turned up with the form and belief that they can take him.

I expect DeGale will win but most prospects come apart at the seams once under the cosh. It wont be a surprise if DeGale starts flapping late in the fight.
