    Default Darke and Watt

I have just had the pleasure of watching a top class bill on Sky , was exciting and good fun with some good action.
However in my opinion it is time that Ian Darke and Jim Watt are put out to pasture.
They dont commentate on the fights as they are happening they just quote nonsence and jabber on to each other.
They contradict themselves all through the fights , and it is waring thin .
All in all was a good night of boxing with the exception of these two clowns.
I would like to hear other Sky viewers views on this matter.

Also having watched this bill i did think Katsidis moving up to LWW for a fight with Maidana would be a good matchup.

Prime example was when they were watching Malignaggi.

First two rounds: "he seems to have lost his speed and his skill..."

Few rounds later: "his new coaches have are utilising his qualities, he is boxing very well..."

I'm paraphrasing here but it was something along those lines. It's fucking embarrassing. If you have an opinion, at least stick to it.

Watt is guaranteed to use this line in EVERY fight too.

"His corner should be looking to pull him out of there..."

never acually seen a Watt commentary but saw a few interviews and he seems to try to go for the drama when it is not really necessary.

Watt alwys does my head in but I like Darke.

When he was teamed up with Glen in the 90s was the best tv team IMO.

Agree on Watt. So irritating. I like Darke though, his voice creates atmosphere. He isn't an out and out boxing man though so I don't expect him to be an expert.

Darke is ok, but Watt basically decides who's winning a fight at the opening bell & sticks with it from there or does his best to make sure they win on 'his card'. Plus he doesn't half want EVERY fight stopped at the slightest excuse. Admittedly there are some fights where I can see his point (imo both Pac-Cotto & PBF-Mosley should have been stopped at about 8th-10th rounds as it was clear neither was going to win, weren't in the fight & they just took unnecessary punishment), but a fight like the Katsidis-Guerrero fight, I never felt Katsidis was out of it, even as he fell further behind.

For me the best guy for the job is Jim Rosenthal he did the Tommy Hearns v Duran , Hearns v Roldan and Andries v Hearns in the uk , he was great , calling the fight punch for punch.
Jim also did radio so you have to call it right.

Yeah, but it's not hard to call a fight if it's one bloke administering a heavy beating to another is it
