Default Adrian Broner: A Floyd Mayweather wannabe

Adrain Broner's recent "statistical success" in the ring bothers me.

I am not sure if there was a thread about Broner's fight with Daniel Ponce De Leon, but I thought DPDL did enough to earn the nod for that fight. He out hustled Broner, and he never seemed bothered by his shots. One the other hand DPDL scored very frequently with the cleaner shots. DPDL would have KOed him at his weight, but he took this fight as a gamble. It seems his career just can't right itself after the JuanMa KO-1 rodeo.

Broner's knockout of Litzau was a lot of Litzau's fault. Broner's speed killed him; that hard right hand on the button that set everything up. Litzau just will not grab if he gets hurt. He fights until there is one guy standing, he knows no other way. I see Broner as still very green and under developed.

& Why is he ranked #1 at Super Featherweight??

Yeah Broner being ranked 1 at 130 is kind of just an indictment on a very poor division at this point. I thought if he beat PDL he just barely did. He is a little PBF wannabe but hey he's like 21 or 22 so he has time but he won't last long if he moves up or down and continues fighting the top guys in the division because he just doesn't really do much to win rounds, he relies on speed which honestly isn't mindblowing. Nice little prospect, he should be matched lightly but if you throw him in with Gamboa, Lopez, Salido or if he moves up then I don't think he wins any of those. Kinda makes Berto looked polished. Oh well, I had hopes for him but he's boring to watch. Even his 1st round KO of Litzau was like the dullest thing ever. Not excited but who knows he's only 21, he has all the time in the world.
