    Default Miguel Cotto

Does Cotto really deserve another fight with Pacquiao or a fight with Mayweather? His last fights were against Foreman , Mayorga , and Margarito.

Foreman was a limited fighter who's leg gave out during the fight.
Mayorga is a clown with power
Margarito at the point of the rematch was a one eyed punching bag

IMO I feel as if there are fighters out there the deserve a shot of at Pacquiao or Mayweather more then Cotto. Cotto should clean out his Divison or at least take out a couple of the bigger names in it like Canelo , Kirkland , Chavez etc. At this Point of his career I dont see him beating Pacquiao or Mayweather. It'd be pointless for him to fight them.

Yea cotto does deserve another go at pacman, cotto is a great fighter and lets be honest hes only been beat two times and both fighters are possibly cheaters, margarito with the wraps and pacman with the roids, hes now got the revenge on margarito, so yes hes due another pop at pacman.

i like cotto and i think he more than deserves this fight

maybe given the choice id rather see pac in with alvarez or maybe even bradley, but I am happy with him fighting cotto especially if he doesnt have cotto boiling down to some stupid weight

Nah they wont boil him down to a stupid weight this time. Team Pac do that when they're unsure what theyre facing in order to give themselves an advantage.

For example Cotto at at 145..they beat him so now it's fine to fight at 147

They wanted Mosley at 142 after he beat Marg..(video evidence of Roach saying it), then Mayweather destroys him and Mora does well so now they grow balls to fight at the legit weight.

Hatton gets destroyed by Mayweather so they thought they'd leave his weight as it is. You can bet if he was undefeated when he fought Pac, they would have requested 138 or some shit.

Finally ODLH..Floyd fights him at 154 legit weight..Team Pac
makes him come like a sundried prune

Team Pac = Biggest snake-oil sellers in boxing. Yet people lap it up! Amazing. I don't know whether Cotto deserves this fight or not..I like him but just like MM the only fights people should be truly satisfied with is if he faces Floyd or Martinez

Cotto versus Mayweather intrigues because it's a fight I wanted to see a few years ago that never materialized. I have less interest in Cotto versus Pacquiao because we have already seen it. I would prefer Pacquiao versus Bradley or Pacquiao versus Peterson. Cotto verusus JMM does not work because JMM is not big enough. Remember Cotto is the top-ranked junior middleweight and JMM holds a lightweight belt. Cotto versus Canelos is THE fight at 154.

He more than deserves the fights. If we start criticising fighters records like that then no one deserves any thing because there's always excuses to make.

I don't mean to criticise his whole record I mean that since his last fights since Pacquiao haven't been all too impressive.

Cotto does not deserve to fight Pac as Manny soundly beat him after a competitive start to the fight. Yes Cotto was weight drained but he agreed to it and I do not think it was a factor in the fight as it ended up a one sided beating. Why is Manny going over old ground where he has nothing to prove.

The only competitive angle to the fight is if it was at 154lb which gives Cotto a chance to win. If it is at any other weight then it is just a money making exercise. Cotto should concentrate on cleaning up the division and Manny should concentrate on Floyd or Marquez.

Agree completely that Cotto-Canelo is the fight at 154 -- and the best possible Cotto fight out there at any weight. I would much rather watch that than a Cotto-Manny repeat or Cotto-Floyd.

But I think more likely, we get Manny-Bradley and Floyd-Canelo. And then I have no idea what happens with Cotto. None of the other potential fights are big money for him. JMM at 147 is probably the biggest and I think could still be good despite the size differential.

Cotto has options and he's earned them. If the Pac rematch is a possibility I can see it a bit more competitive this time but personally I'd prefer Cotto well into the 154 mix. At the very hint of Manny and company talking of weight loopholes and crunching numbers Cotto would be well suited to tell them to go piss up a rope and walk on.

He just shouldn't move lower in weight anymore. He tires in the later rounds at 154 then at 147 he would tire much faster. He needs to stay at 154 and dominate that division.
