Macklingets hit too much when he fights. He will get taken out quite easily.

Sturm was very defensive in their fight and he had him close to out in the 12th...martinez is getting him outa there

Looking forward to both this and the Hatton/ Brook fight.

Wouldn't be to suprises to see an upset in either

Late Martinez stoppage, Macklin is brave and strong but will tire,
and he also leads with his face.

Martinez is older than time now, but Macklin will get sparked. I don't think Martinez has long left at the top though. His style is all wrong for longevity and age.

This post sums it up for me. Macklin is strong early but like in the Sturm and Moore fights he will start to tire late on and this time he is in with the best opponent he has ever faced who is a great counter puncher who has speed and power. Martinez will walk him onto something and end it inside 12.

Macklin will do the Irish proud if he is able to keep going forward for 12 rounds and not get sparked.

Martinez vs Macklin card starts tonight @ 10:00 PM ET on HBO or in about an hour here in the States, and at around 3:00 AM Sunday in the UK.

    March 17
At New York (HBO): Sergio Martinez vs. Matthew Macklin, 12 rounds, for Martinez's Ring magazine middleweight title.

Beginning 1st - HBO might show 1 or both of these undercard fights:

Edwin Rodriguez vs. Donovan George, 10 rounds, super middleweights; Magomed Abdusalamov vs. Jason Pettway, 10 or 12 rounds, heavyweights.

Time for my 1st Guinness, to get me in the spirit of St. Paddy's Day, if Merchant is calling this fight for HBO he'll be half in the bag by the time the main event starts.

Oh well, i'm just glad I get this on HBO in HD on my big screen, as for the commentary, every now and then I have to mute HBO. I can deal with the British commentary, it's the shitty streams I have issues with.
