    Default 2012 Robberies

    Cloud-Campillo
    Rios-Abril

There were others, right? Help me out, I'm blanking.

As far as boxing dropping the ball, we can add the Texas/WBA drug test failure after the Junior/Rubio fight to the list.

It wasn't a judges decision, but Kirkland-Molina was either obvious corruption or blatant incompetence.

Yes please let people know that boxing fans are outraged at these two decisions in particular. Many I'm sure would be willing to sign a petition supporting a formal protest and overturning of this Rios vs. Abril decision.

Let me put it this way:

On a scale from 1-100, with 100 being the worst robbery possible, the Abril-Rios fight would score a 450. The second worst robbery of the year would fall somewhere in the 1-100 range. That's how bad this piece of shit decision was.

There you go. So far this year, and we're only in April, there have been controversies surrounding four fights. It's ridiculous.

If boxing hadn't already beaten me into a state of disinterest and apathy, I'm sure I would be outraged.

Right, and if you open the window a bit more, and add fights within the last year, Helenius-Peter and Lara-Williams. There have always been unpopular decisions in boxing, but bad decisions have become more commonplace it appears recently.

Illuminating is the contrast in the impact of the careers on the winners/losers of the above fights.

    Winners:

Cloud is facing Jean Pascal in a big-money fight in Canada in the second half of 2012.
Kirkland is rumored to be at the front of the line for a fight with Alvarez on September 15, 2012.
Rios appears still poised to face Marquez on July 14, 2012.

    Losers:

    Campillo - no fight scheduled
    Molina - no fight scheduled
    Abril - no fight scheduled.

Good point, but you do need to account for the fact that the gift-winners were stars to begin with (hence the gifts). I don't think Marquez would be fighting Abril next even if he had been given the victory he earned, for instance. But Rios wouldn't be getting the fight either -- that much is almost certainly true (Mayweather/Judah counterexamples aside).
