Default this version of cotto would destroy pacqiou

Cotto looked amazing last night, and he was mentally strong coming in after a win over margarito, he was in great shape, didnt fade, and wasnt weight drained. I think that version of cotto beats pac

Destroy Pacquiao? Highly doubt it, styles make fights. Now I do admit that this was a better Cotto than the weight drained catch weight Cotto that fought Pacquiao. But Pac is too fast and too strong and I feel he would beat Cotto convincingly once again.

Styles make fights so I wouldn't say destroy but I think at 154 it would be different fight. Cotto with his new trainer and weight is a different fighter compared to when he faced Pacquiao so it would make a real tough fight. I highly doubt a Cotto - Pacquiao fight at 154. Mayweather and Pacquiao should fight each other and call it a day.

I don't know about "destroy"..... but I agree with you. Last night's Cotto would've beaten Pac. Personally, I would put the odds at about 60-40 in Cotto's favor. Too bad a rematch will probably never happen.

I think Cotto would have beaten anyone but Mayweather in that form. I don't usually rate today's fighters with the greats, but I think Mayweather would live with Duran and Leonard at their respective peaks. How can you hurt what you can't hit cleanly?

Cotto is getting very very competitive, the Diaz's effect is defo showing up. I wouldn't go as far as saying that he would destroy PAcquiao though, Pacquiao steamrolled everything in front of him except MArquez, who seems to have the style to challenge him.

Which is why Pac Man wanted another catch weight. The fight would be very interesting and exciting.

I don't think Pac needs a baseball bat to face Miguel.

Exactly what I thought when I saw this fight - I hope this puts to bed that argument that the weight didn't matter when Pac fought Cotto. There was a 9lb difference. That's MASSIVE.
This Cotto especially with Diaz in the corner would be favored to beat him. You have 60-40 about right imo

Did any of these guys start out at the same weight as PAC? So why should PAC be expected to jump up 30 weight classes?

Actually i believe Cotto is tailor made for Pacquaio, he never beats him.

Pac wants belts at 147 and 154? So why should any champion be expected to drain themselves AND put their belt on the line because he doesn't feel confident enough making the actual weight limit?
