Lucian Bute vs. Carl Froch Saturday fight thread

Great scrap for us fans Saturday from the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, UK, beginning @ 5:00 PM ET on Epix here in the States and on Sky Sports in the UK @ 9:00 PM. I'm not sure what time the undercards will start or how much will get shown.

At Nottingham, England (Epix and EpixHD.com): Lucian Bute vs. Carl Froch, 12 rounds, for Bute's IBF super middleweight title; Carl Frampton vs. Raul Hirales, 12 rounds, junior featherweights; Erick Ochieng vs. AA Lowe, 12 rounds, junior middleweights; Pier-Olivier Cote vs. Mark Lloyd, 8 rounds, junior welterweights.

I believe Bute will be too much for Froch, although Carl will make a fight of it. Bute by UD with Scores of something like 8-4 or 7-5 in rounds. I also think it's possible that Bute stops Froch in one of the later rounds.

Go Bute!!! I do think Bute is a far superior fighter in all aspects except for DURABILITY. It's still a dangerous fight IMO.

Should be a good fight, definately worthy of Showtime or HBO, but I'll take Epix I guess

Like both guys, guess I'll go with Froch since he is the underdog.

Bute is probably a lil too quick and slick for him, but Froch packs a punch and he is one tough, determined hook nosed bastard.

It's not offered by every cable company. However, in the past, I've been able to view boxing fights on its online website it for free. Fat Dan Rafael and Sugar Ray Leonard are doing the announcing for this week's fight.

With regard to the reason Showtime or HBO did not pick it up, it is because Bute and Froch are not American, at least that's my guess. It's the biggest available fight at super middleweight other than Ward v. Bute. With Bute, he has one more fight in his contract with Showtime and they prefer it be against Ward. The problem is that Ward has made tentative plans to square off with Chad Dawson in his next fight. If Bute prevails, I wonder if Showtime would purchase Bute v. Kessler.

Yeah it's a pay channel. I get it through Dish Network. It's basically a movie channel that occasionally shows Boxing & Bellator (MMA).
