Default Leonard/Hearns 2- The judges had it right!

I saw this fight again and again and again and the more I see it, the more and more I think the judges had it right with the Draw. If Hearns had not had the knock-downs, Ray would have won by a very close Decision.

Simply put: Hearns gassed out at the end of the 2nd minute of nearly every late round. He had no rally or volley in those rounds. Ray totally CLOSED the 12th Round even though he was losing most of that round early. If Hearns was up to the task and closed out Ray in at least the 10th Round and beyond, he would have won those rounds and this fight easily- but it was the same thing with the first fight, by the time Hearns go to the late rounds he simply began to gas-out.

With that being said, Hearns/Leonard was a good series- could have gone for a 3rd match.

Tommy was my second favourite fighter (to Duran); I loathed Leonard.

    But the draw was fair.

It was a pretty easy fight to score, the only thing that makes the difference is how you score dominant no knockdown rounds. Thus you can fairly score it 113/112 Hearns or 112/112...

You are both wrong, Leonard got his ass kicked and lost clearly. Knocked down twice and out jabbed in the fight. Sure Hearns had scary moments but he was in control. It was a bad decision and Hearns should have got the victory.

I dont have an opinion as to who won the bout cuz it's old news anyways but the thing that stands out the most to me everytime I watch this bout is how Leonard really has Hearns' number..

IT's funny because as a little kid, I was more of a Hearns fan and believed he got robbed in the rematch but as I got older and reviewed the fight few more times, only thing I can think of is how Ray had his number.

I say this because both fights played out pretty much the same way.. Hearns fights well in the beginning but starts to lose steam in the championship rounds when Ray starts to take over..

Hearns is lucky that the rematch was a 12 rounder cuz if it went 15, he would have got knocked out in a similiar fashion..

Leonard had his number and dudes just a superior fighter, period..

Leonard was a cunt, Hearns had been wobbled and knocked out in his recent fights. Ray being a bitch thought this was an easy win. Hearns showed his heart and courage to smash Leonard and put him down. Hearns should have been awarded the decision.

That fight wasn't close, Hearns was a clear winner, and even Leonard, as arrogant and borderline-delusional as he can be, even he told Tommy that Tommy won the rematch. The judges robbed Hearns of his redemption.

...and in the 1st fight, Leonard lost most of the rds. Leonard won by KO, but he was behind.
