Wish the best for him, but virtuosos like him usually end up as mediocre teachers. Things come to them much easier than the common fighter, and the common fighter isn't capable of utilizing the techniques and styles that the virtuoso so effortlessly. Pernell Whitaker was a mediocre trainer too.

Seems like the best trainers are guys who weren't so physically gifted and really had to learn solid technique and strategy to win. Guys like Roach, Ronnie Shields, Garcia, Buddy Mcgirt, ect.

I like Herol though so hopefully he can be an exception to the rule.

He got me in love with boxing watching him on the BBC in the early days. It is like all great technicians they find it hard to train people with a fraction of their talent. He has been out of the game for so long he may have a better perspective now. I hope he does well.

Forgot he nearly committed suicide. Also knew he was a personal trainer.

Kevin Rooney as well. It's interesting that Rooney and Shields were both good pro boxers and contenders themselves. Shields nearly won a world title.

Steward was national golden gloves champ at bantamweight as an amateur. Never fought pro though.

My Grandson is 8 months old, is that too early to sign him up with Bomber?

The man is quality, fantastic portrait of the noble art.

I hope he's got the eye to pick a good one and get some recognition at last.

He was smooth , however the noble art says protect yourself at all times ( hands held high ) , not pretend to be a limbo dancer on ice-skates.

The ingle camp have borrowed that style from Naz to Kid Galahad, it works with the right fighters which is all of them. They teach you to hit and not be hit.

Isnt Hamed the only world champ with that style ? the rest fell short ?
Don't remember the style working for Dave Caldwell for one.

The great entertainer Johnny Nelson was champion.

Yes I forgot about Nelson , easy to forget he was actually a boxer as he was almost given the Noble Peace prize for his lack of hostility in the DeLeon and Warring fights.
