    Default Mirko Cro Cop

I just started getting into MMA more and I saw this guy on Pride Fighting Championship. I also saw him KO Bob Sapp. Im really immpressed with his style and patience in the ring. Can anyone fill me in a little more about this guy?

He's fun to watch, but he's fairly one dimensional. He's defeated a few big fighters but he's nowhere near well rounded enough to compete with the top fighters. His roundhouse is his main weapon. He's obviously in good shape and strong which always helps. I tend to think that if he got in the ring with the best of the best (Arlovski, Fedor, Wanderlei Silva, etc..) he's get stomped, but you never know. It sure is fun watching him kick people in the head.

Hmm.... can't believe I didn't see that. Either way, Fedor won. Pretty impressive that Mirko went the distance though.

Mirko is a pretty solid fighter...That Fedor fight was I think at Pride Shockwave 2005. Also, as a side note, he's no Fedor, but Mirko DID manage to KTFO Aleksander Emelianenko.

    Nice av. The inFreddable D!
"... and I don't really bother wit da, hey... hey"

Crocop beat Coleman too, but Mark has lost a step.
He doesn't have the speed anymore to shoot, drop, & strike to a tap like he did 10 years ago.
so I don't know whether to give Crocop props for that, or just blame it on Mark's diminishing skills.

Haha...always good to see another Durst fan....that makes two of us total.

I'd bet its both...Mark has gone wayyyy downhill, but Mirko is still pretty good. I agree though, that anyone who can neutralize his left roundhouse kicks has pretty much guaranteed that the fight goes to a decision.

Anyone else here think that maybe Mirko needs to jump ship to the UFC and tear things up over here?

Crocop for the most part is an exciting fighter, but I prefer watching him in K-1 kickboxing bouts. His ground game is very weak and he tends to give up once he's on his back. The longer the fight wears on, the less chance Mirko has of winning. Reminds me of Vitor Belfort. Having said that, Vitor and Mirko are two of my favourite fighters, be nice to see them with a little extra effort. Crocop should stick to K-1 tho.
