biking vs squats?
biking vs squats?
Sprints at high resistance such as upstairs and hills at maximum speed for repeated repetitions coupled with meduim distance running will give you massive increases in leg strength and effenciency whilst giving you a superior Aerobic and Anaerobic work out that Squats of biking ever could.
yes running is awsome... but squats vs biking or is it just preference... example would be something 10 sets of however many reps vs biking straight with no rest for however many minutes
I have no idea .
But squating down then walking around like a duck and occasionally jumping over something and straight back to squat walking is another keen way to build endurance mobility and flexability all at once.
Do stretches before and after though.
you want explosive power. Definitely the squats man. Biking works on your slow twitch muscle fibers, squats works on powerful xplosiveness. Nah mean?Originally Posted by 1boxer1
you have a variety of different muscles in your thigh, so you need a variety of different squats to work them in different ways.
Why not bike, run and Squat?
Actually thats damn good advice. But if I had to choose one or the other, I'd pick none. You should sprint if you dont wanna squat. Bikings ok, but your not gonna develop explosiveness, just endurance.Originally Posted by AdamGB

Plyometric everything, squats, pushups....that's the way to go
1boxer1, you're on the right track. IMHO, plyometrics is the way to go to build strong powerful legs--especially for endurance. That is, of course, if you wish to equate speed and strength into POWER.
Of the many websites I've visited, Brian Mackenzie's is by far the most succinct on the subject.
For, specific, "leg plyometric" exercises, review the referenced link:
http://www.brianmac.demon.co.uk/legplymo.htm
Near the bottom of the referenced page are additional links for other body specific areas, i.e., arm plyometrics, high intensity plyometrics, etc.
Hope this information is supportive of your query, mate.
Best,
Herb
Just dont squat for a piss,ok.Originally Posted by 1boxer1
