Default Abner Mares vs. Leo Santa Cruz likely at 126

Leo Santa Cruz-Abner Mares Coming in The Summer? - Boxing News

Looks like Leo is planning on vacating his 122lb title and moving up. This fight could have been made years ago. Frustrating now when there are better fights out there for both of them. Still, it should be a good action fight.

I agree that this fight should have been made a while ago. Santa Cruz has lost some steam recently. He doesn't seem so great anymore. Mares is still fine but has kind of gone downhill. Still a good fight though.

Agree it has been talked about for a long while now. So I'll believe it when I see it. I think it's a good fight with the winner getting back some momentum and returning to the mix.

I think a Mares anywhere near his best takes it.

It will be a very good fight. Better late than never. Can't be much worse than Floyd vs Manny lol

Mares went from heading for a top five p4p place to being sparked out in two rounds and then doing nothing. Santa Cruz went from being everybody's favourite up and coming fighter to being some guy picking up big cheques for fighting sparring partners on the undercards of big bills. The fight has lost alot of its lustre. It should be a hell of a fight though. The winner gets their career back.

Well said. Both guys have been exciting fighters. I don't think Santa Cruz power is going to follow him up. He seemed a bit perplexed his last fight. Either of these guys against Figueroa at some point might be interesting.
