I like froch but since he retired I can now see that he would never have rematched andre ward.

He should have fought a rematch for legacy but he knew he couldn't beat him.

Froch can talk all he likes but andre completely put him into a different class.

I dont think Froch needed to lose again to seal his legacy and Ward did not need another go to further damage his own. There was nothing in it for him save a cheque. There was nobody else I guess with a big enough brand for Mr. Ward other then Carl. Its interesting that Froch was Wards money fight at the weight even though he schooled him once.

He was the class of the field be it Froch or anyone else. What he should have done instead of going on strike was jump up for his own legacy because right now all he has is a tourney with his best win being over a guy most people have problems with sending to the Hall. He wasted the best years of his life for this sport. Its not marathon paddling, you cant make a comeback at 50 when you rely on the tools that he does.

And ftr the reason I'm hard on the guy is because as a fan I feel cheated. He is every bit as talented as those he compares himself to but with one undeniable difference

Really disappointed to hear that Groves lost.

Carl Froch will be saying "See, I was right, he's finished as a fighter!"

What can Groves do? Was it a bad night after the first round? Can he improve?

Guess the next set of fights for Grove is in Europe in order to rebuild.

Close fight. Groves stamina really is his achilles heel. Not only does he visibly slow but he looks knackered which makes the other fella look stronger.

Also no disrespect to Paddy Fitzpatrick - could simply be a case of Groves is not good enough - but since he's left Adam Booth, barring the first 6 rounds of the first Froch fight, he's struggled with everyone.

Agree with fenster, if groves does want to go on he has to reconsider his corner an. He's lost 3 world title fights with him and never looked impressive sigh him in his corner

Also to say froch finished groves, you have to consider before froch groves wasn't really proven. It was just those first 6 rounds vs froch that made him. Groves isn't what he thought he was or what we'd hoped he would be. The debs
E rematch wouldn't have been very entertaining I got anyway. Have to consider another fight for Wembley next year

Groves is talented but he has the wrong trainer and if any fighter was crying out for a strength and conditioning coach it is him. He has no stamina after 8 rounds, he looks visibly exhausted and his opponents can see it so they put the pressure on. He's wasting his talent.

I like Groves, and you might be right , maybe SMW is a problem for him. But will he be able to take the punches of the likes of Kovalev and Beterbiev? And will his stamina improve? Especially when you're eating bigger punches.

Groves is too small for light heavy
