When was the last time a Champ have THEE GUY a chance? I like when that happens, rather than the hype jobs and the mandatories.

I like when Hagler gave Roldan a chance...

Garcia vs Matthysse springs to mind and Mayweather vs Pacquaio.

A decade ago I'd say calzaghe vs Lacy.

    Roy Jones vs Tarver I

Lennox vs Vitali. On short notice too. You gotta give Lennox credit for taking on such a big challenge not long after winning the biggest fight of his life.

Couple things. It wasn't really short notice as both were preparing to fight on the same card. The only thing short notice was the change of opponents. And Vitali was not thought of as "thee" guy, as he put it. Vitali was thought of at the time as nothing more than a quitter. Vitali gained his respect in the Lennox fight and after.

How exactly did Lemieux become the guy?

I don't know for sure but I think Spicoli had something to do with it!
