Default Fighters with the most one punch knockouts.

We speak about power and we categorise people like Tyson/Foreman/Lewis as huge punchers, and they were.

Tyson however didn't have many one shot KOs for example.

Who of any division can you remember with the most?

Randell Bailey immidiately jumps out in my head from recent times.

That is what the Ring has on record for all time. Not sure how both Young Otto or Young Stribling are not on there but that's the list

So did Jimmy Wilde. Never seen such a big puncher so consistently ignored. I guess its because he was 98 pounds soaking wet. Odd that they would go back as far as Langford and not take the step to Wilde.

Sorry, should have read all the posts.
One of the things that has always amazed me about many fighters, and specifically punchers, is their body type, thin. Hearns and Foster were razor thin, Saddler looked like a stick figure, and Robinson never looked muscled/intimidating.
Out of the first 5 fighters on that list, 4 would be considered thin. Don't mess with thin guys.
I'm not asking for a lecture about punching power, just talking.

Agree 100%. Maybe its bone to flesh density or something. No lecture from me. I'm not qualified.

Haha! Now there is some real false modesty, I'm certain you know as much or more than most of the 'experts' about punching power.
It's just that I've read about punching power for years and I'm convinced there is no one definitive answer. Some fighters hit harder, for a combination of reasons, maybe.😏

Nigel Benn and G Man both had vicious one punch power.

Prime Roy had some scary power. Two examples: His one shot of Montell in the rematch and his body shot that cracked Virgil Hill's vertebrae. To make things worse, those examples are at light heavy, and Roy was probably at his best at super middle.

Similar to Roy, I would argue that Naz had some very intimidating one punch power. Like Roy, he was unorthodox and could end the fight in the blink of an eye.

Young Oscar and Tito both had great power. Look at some of Oscars early blowouts over Leija, Troy Dorsey, and Raf Ruelas. Watch Tito destroy guys with a single body shot, or beautiful hook to the chin.

Not really. I'm not qualified to speak with any certainty on the matter but I'm convinced of one thing and that is that you are born with power. The proper technique gets the most out of it just as much as it gets the most out of a weak puncher but some of these guys could knock you out on their toes. Peds have muddied the waters but I think that is a sure thing. I also agree once again with what you said above. Nothing is fixed and the lanky guys stand out because they are lanky. But just as many Barbados Joe Walcotts and Langford types could have made the list but its just Ring chose those 10 for their most recent list. Most places list Walcott at 5'1'' but he was more like 4' 10". How did he get them big guys out of there? Interesting topic.

Ps- Many of those guys that we all dismiss as having zero pop as to their pro record would most likely cold cock every person on this forum or any other. If a chap like Paulie Malignaggi got a clean shot in on me, I'd probably put him on the list when I regained consciousness.

No question about your Paulie statement or that punchers are born punchers.

Edit It's still a wonderment, to me, why some of the thin/slender fighters seem to have lightening in their fists.

Michael Moorer is another under rated heavy handed hitter. I think he is one of the few that lost power moving up. LHW a monster puncher. HW solid puncher.
