    Default Catchweights

With stupid suicide mission catch weights being made like Canelo v Khan and GGG v Brook.

What catch weights could be made now?

    Brook-Golovkin isn't a catchweight it's at 160.

I dont mind catchweights. But catchweights for world titles is a farce.

GGG - Ward would have been a good catchweight at 165 or something like that.

^^ THat was always my only gripe with them. Even if its just for a trinket or paper title I don't care, but if it's a proper lineal championship fight, then both guys should honor the divisions allowed weight. Nothing ever stops one guy from weighing in lighter if he feels more effective doing so, but don't tell the other guy he has to.

I've always looked at acceptable CW being a meeting of the very best in respected divisions. Now unfortunately they are used to accommodate an already heavy favorite, make excuses for not making weight or to preserve rankings and trinkets..safe loses. Or all of the above.

It's real simple. If you step up, retain the limit and come in at comfortable healthy weight. To nickel and dime the numbers to the point on fractions or a lb is a con on the fans.

Does anyone think Leonard could have talked Hagler down to 154....to go along with all of his other favorable demands?

Do not think it was possible for Hagler to make that weight ever.
