Default Chris Eubank Jr-Tommy Langford - 22 Oct

Frank "i'll never work with Eubank again" Warren has announced this. All the bullshit about fighting Golovkin and the like yet Jr is sticking to defending his British title. Not sure how turning down millions at the 02 to fighting in Cardiff, for a fraction of that, in front of one man and a dog makes sense but it clearly does to them.

The poster has it 2nd billing to Liam Williams-Ahmet Patterson (good fight).

I haven't seen it anywhere , but does anyone know how much the purse bid was that Warren put in?
I'm really curious to find out how much Junior will be getting compared to the £3 million that Brook is getting in his place to fight GGG.

Has junior won the lonsdale belt outright?

Going for the Lonsdale belt outright makes sense but they're so nuts I doubt it. Unless they keep playing the game of - call out world-class bods but fight domestic level, I suppose they can keep that going for another year.

Whatever the purse bids were he'll be getting peanuts compared to what he could have made. Even Billy Joe has said they turned down 900k to face him.

Junior is clearly not ready for world title fights but want the publicity of a world champion.

They put Junior in with Saunders and he came up short, they realised he needed more experience in the bank before they step it up again, he has smashed Spike, almost killed a guy, battered the next and now is fighting to keep the lonsdale belt outright , he is clearly above british level. The amount of money to be made off Junior is a very very large amount they will not take risks until they are sure as can be that he is ready, Junior should fight BJS after this one it will be a good measure to see how much he has learnt since last time, BJS is top euro level at best, GGG is a beast and should not be on the radar until after the Canelo fight. Good luck to Mr langford he is going to need it.

What is really funny is that promoters who hate him still work with him. Hearn wants him smashed to bits by GGG but Junior did not take the bait.

They work with him because they make money off him. They don't want him to lose because he will be of no use to them.
What's more funny Is that he turned down £1million to fight for £110k and £3 million plus to fight for peanuts, probably £50-£100k.
So this "Team Eubank master plan " is already about £4 Million down on what he could've been. So he has to earn £4 million just to get to quits! Good luck with that!

But you would think the £1m and £3m fights will still be there for him assuming this British title fight is routine, given BJS's lack of activity and GGG's pound 4 pound status (not overlooking Kell Brook here!!!). So I think in reality he probably hasn't lost these potential paydays, assuming the named opponents can be arsed dealing with the Eubanks in the future!

Are those paydays still there? Nowadays you don't get many big Money fights , they're very hard to make. All he has to do is lose to BJS Again and then how does he make those fights ? And even if he does get those paydays, it'll take a couple of years realistically . He could've had that money in the bank and spent the next couple of years making more. Whichever way you look , Team Eubank have put themselves behind the 8 ball and made themselves look pretty stupid in the process.

Totally right, totally stupid from team Eubank, any loss against GGG would have been 'acceptable' and not affected his future earnings much. Cannot work it out other than EU JR is after Big Brother more than boxing.

The best preparation for the deadly punching GGG , light hitting British contenders?

That is the joke, the pay days are still there. Hearn said Junior could be next for GGG after he demolishes Brook.
