You can moan and groan all you want (I agree the Golovkin-duck/weight situation is shameless) but this will be the biggest selling fight in the States this year.

Personally - as a stand alone fight - I think it's a great matchup. Jr is tough, naturally bigger and the nature of the fight must bring the Mexican balls out in him, otherwise he'll forever be slaughtered. Should be a cracker.

Whats the betting that there is some sort of rehydration clause in to stop Chavez Jr from turning into the hulk over night.
Despite the fact that is what old ginger pubes has been doing for however long now, I can't imagine him allowing someone to do it to him.

It'll be an interesting fight, Box Nation should get their hands on it which will be a bonus for the UK fans

    ginger pubes....

But dead on the money. GP (ginger pubes) has been bloating himself after the weigh-in for years...... but now he meets the Guru himself at that art form, JCC Jr. Would be interesting to know about that clause, if it exists. Hard to imagine Team Canelo would overlook that, since in this case Junior stands to gain a lot more from the bloating than GP would in this case.

I wouldn't mind this fight at all if canelo would have fought GGG and lost. It's a fight that has potential to be exciting but has no relevance for their rankings as fighters.

Tito, who will you be supporting in this fight?

This is something that causes me to have to clear my throat first.....

But for this particular fight I'm firmly on the side of JCC Jr. I hope he ruins Ginger PubesĀ®

    Mexicans should not but this.

What's the problem? You can watch it on your dodgy box.

This fight is who do you dislike the least. If Chavez can keep this remotely close I can see a draw happening. There isn't a bigger fight out there for either of them than a rematch. Vegas, TV and promoters would all love a draw and they can do it again for Mexican independence day.

I'd love to see Chavez spark him though. Unlikely but it'd be hilarious.

not sure about a rehydration clause but chavez jr is going to be fined 1 million dollars for every lb overweight he is :S, if he doesn't make the weight at the weigh in of course.

Lucas Matthysse making comeback on card. Really don't like his chances at 147 with damage sustained and the divisions depth. Never understood why promotions insist on rushing guys back to the big stage after devastating loss. Let the guy take some gimme in an off air undercard. Unless of course he's intended to be the b side

Any idea who Matthyse is fighting? If not why worry about being on a big card sonny :P He's not exactly a guy who can rebuild, going to be what it is either way at his age and with so much experience.

I don't think Matthysse is going to do anything at 147. I don't think Provodnikov is going to do anything with his comeback either. They're both just coming back to make money because there's not much going on for them outside boxing. Maybe they could fight each other again.
