Roy Jones was fast and ruthless.

    Terry Norris had dynamite combinations.

Nigel Benn had vicious and venomous punches.

Which is why I just said punches.

    They were not random combinations.

I always liked Marquez' jab left uppercut:

Tyson has to be considered. Jones.

May not be the fastest, but JMM is fast enough get people with 5 in a row some times.

    If were talking instances:

The 2 piece over under Roy landed on Reggie Johnson stands out.
The blizzard of punches that brannon caught from roy does too.
The combo that Gatti finished gamache with was pretty ugly
Mercer liquefying Morrison with that barrage at the end was pretty vicious.
Floyd pinning manfredy on the ropes and using him as a paddle ball.
The one douglas dropped tyson with wasn't bad.
Tua pummeling of Ruiz was quite a sight to behold.

There's a lot i missed that i'm sure others will mention
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

One of favs of all time: RJJ dropping Pazienza. If you ask Vinnie... he'd say he got hit by 2 or 3 Roys at the same time.

I'd say Roy overall, since often "most vicious" and fastest would suggest a different approach. He's one of the rare guys who could basically shoeshine and throw flurries while making some of them concussive punches. Meldrick Taylor probably threw in bunches with as much speed as anyone you could find, but there weren't single shots in there that were that deadly. Someone like Marquez on the other hand wasn't especially fast at all but put punches together in order to set up one or two really damaging shots and could follow up on them as he was set to punch with power, same time he was sometimes caught hard in the process by faster guys.

Roman Gonzales is another very good example of a modern guy who can really mix it up with speed and power in combination.

I've always loved Holyfield as a combination puncher especially for a heavyweight with the right mix of speed and pop. Tremendous counter-combos and still think the left hook was always top notch, it didn't send guys flat and out always but it buzzed, hurt and dropped some of the very best.

Fastest I've ever seen in a fight was Ali finishing off Brian London. Not the most vicious though.

Chavez Sr. had great combinations, especially mixing in some murderous body shots.

    Oscar? Smoke and mirrors sometimes.

Someone like RJJ threw amazing combinations, with real power in each punch. Oscar many times threw pitty-pat, slapping flurries, which impressed the easily impressionable judges, but when shown in slo-mo revealed just how pitty-pat slappy they were. Case in point were some flurries against Quartey.
