Default Fights on Espn2: Gamboa vs Castellanos

Just walked in this and looks like Gamboa has a platform to return to that wrecking ball style that made him so appealing. Because whatever he was doing in his last fight I'm still trying to figure out. Castellanos is not terrible despite the deceiving 23-12 record but is off a brutal ko to Escandon and long layoff. Also vs a guy who should come in a unofficial lightweight. This is Gamboas quickest return to action off a win in over 7 years!

Yamaguchi Falcao 12-0 and 18-0-1 Morgan Fitch are in the 8th of a 10 rounder now, middles. Falcao looks to be well in control.

Vergil Ortiz jr 4-0 vs Angel Sarinana 7-5-2 up next. Jr welters. Don't blink

This Ortiz looks like a buzzsaw

Ortiz extended into 3rd. Sarinana not here to fall over and putting some leather on him in spots.

real amateur move and frustration by Ortiz jr, spinning him and basically throwing Sarinana down. Come on man. Ok..uuuge uppercut drops Sarinana hard and ref calls fight over.

Lopez gets the better in 1st. Very solid body digs and gets in and out.

Lopez gets sucked inside and dropped hard after being hurt by hook-right hand combo. Takes a knee and Rojas putting him onto ropes end 2nd, big round Rojas!

Lopez laying inside and digging more body shots. Rojas landing in between and looks the stronger. Lopez not shy about using that shoulder to get him off. Looks good but not sure it's so smart by Lopez as it goes.

Tough gritty 4th. Lopez all in on attack and Rojas catches him in last minute, hurts him bad and ref issues count! Lopez really has no choice at this point but to try to fight him off. Rojas heavy handed and stuns him again and walking him down end of 4th.

Better 5th from Lopez and maintained range and got off. Not pretty but he stayed off the canvas. Get the feeling Rojas can bull him to ropes and inflict some more damage if he presses gas.

Rojas waiving him in. Lopez good movement then Rojas lands some major work to body and Lopez gets hung up in corner. Not much on these punches from Lopez but busy. Rojas finishes 6th much stronger.

Lopez in that fight and flight mode in 7th. Right idea with so so execution. Rojas changes flow when he connects but frankly gave that round away by not cutting off ring. Espn mutes entire instruction by Miguel Diaz as every other word was 'fuckin' . Rojas pouring it on 8th

Lopez dropped again and takes count of 9.9 ffs. Hurt bad and keeping away upon rising but Rojas just explodes on him early 8th! Ref steps in and fight called

3 consecutive Rojas rights just melts Lopez down to his hands and knees on that KD. Brutal

Gamboa and Castellanos in 1st. Gamboa still built like a brick shithouse. Castellanos lands a few straight rights already. It's all mental for Gamboa nowadays..he's stuck between styles

Gamboa doing that slappy grab thing he does. Teddy ripping him on flawed technique and stating obvious. Castellanos very composed early and getting better in 2nd. Man Gamboa just got caught with big right and just stands there . Have to remember this kid won a world trinket at 12-10 and had several defenses

Gamboa coming out caveman style in 3rd. Stick with what brought you to the stage man. Leave the backfoot boxing to backfoot boxers
