    Ward hints at AJ bout

Andre Ward says he would be open to a move up to heavyweight and has hinted at a possible clash against world champion Anthony Joshua.

The unbeaten American retained his world light-heavyweight titles on Saturday after a stoppage victory over Sergey Kovalev in their rematch in Las Vegas.

Ward first stepped up from the super-middleweight ranks to face the Russian last November and the 33-year-old has now admitted a bout against the WBA and IBF heavyweight champion could tempt him to make the step up to the top division.

"I always seem to be knocking down giants one by one," Ward said. "Heavyweight, that's always been a dream of mine. It's got to be against the right guy, but I dream big and anything is possible."

Ward added: "He [Ward's trainer Virgil Hunter] has always been setting the bar high, that is the essence of our team right there.

"That man will have me believing things that I never even thought of. Like, 'Anthony Joshua, really?' and it will make perfect sense to him. So we'll see."

Hunter first suggested the idea of Ward facing Joshua and believes his man has the attributes to outbox the British knockout specialist.

Ward would also not be the first fighter to make the leap, with the legendary Roy Jones Jr having moved up from the light-heavyweight division in 2003 to defeat John Ruiz for the WBA heavyweight title.

"Fighting a bigger man doesn't have to do with size, it has to do with your attributes and their attributes," Hunter said.

"If you are able to single out one thing that makes it a competitive fight for yourself, you take that chance.

"I'd like to see him fight Anthony Joshua. I'm not playing, I'm serious. I think it would be a very interesting fight. I believe he could outbox Anthony Joshua.

"There's some things about Joshua that I see. He's a good kid, I know him, but I see things with him in particular and he is the best [of the heavyweight champions], but styles make fights.

"It would be a waste of time to go to the cruiserweights, we should just leapfrog it, go for it all."

You posted the video, but did you watch the video? Because Paulie clearly does not agree with you. He said Ward took over and would get a clear stoppage. That's the part you fail to recognize. Yes, low blows shouldn't have ended it. But you fail to acknowledge that low blows did not decide it. Kovalev was done, and he was done from legit punches. You skip that. The one side acknowledges all that happened, you only acknowledge one detail.

You are boycotting Floyd and Ward. I'll give you a list of other fighters to boycott. Crawford, Loma, Rigo, GGG, Chocolatito...I think there's a pattern here. Are you just boycotting the best fighters?
Nah, it boils down to Ward and Mayweather. One is a cheat and the other is pisstaker.

I'm into most other fighters and especially James Toney. I love Lomachenko and think he is the best fighter since Joe Calzaghe. GGG is great too. Rigo is borderline boycotted after that last fight. He has one more chance when he fights again in the next 2 years.
I can't tell if you have been trolling or you just have no idea what is going on
If you can't beat them, boycott them.

It doesn't matter how you all wanna justify the win For Ward. Fact is he finished him off with shots to the bollocks.

Ok fine Ward won fair and square.

Not one person has said that. But I suppose it is easier to win an argument where you make up the opposing side right? It's intellectually dishonest though.

A general rule of thumb is if you find it necessary to be intellectually dishonest you are probably on the wrong side of the argument.

They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I would like to see Ward beat Stevenson next. He completely cleaned out a tough 168 pound class, so I'd like to see him do the same at 175 prior to moving up and trying his hand at cruiser. In a perfect world he would unify cruiser after 175, and finish his career by beating a flawed heavyweight for the title. He ranks very high historically if he does that...
