I'm not often a fan of guys who throw such long shots, but his selection is clever. I'm intrigued.

He uses the jab to the body well. And seems to have power in both hands. He hurt Yamanaka with the left & right. A little wild, I thought he was getting reckless at times. He has subtle defensive shifts that impressed me too. Yamanaka was hurt at the end but the constant swarming was going to end it very soon. Yamanaka was still on his feet but had taken some big shots when his corner saved him.

Shame shame. Such a big win is now erased. I hate it when this happens

Lets see how the corrupt WBC handles this. They let Francisco Vargas get away with the contaminated meat excuse. What's the bet they let this slide too? Yamanaka should still be undefeated & get his belt back.

I heard Neary blew the weight for the rematch. 3 pounds over. Fight is still on.

Yamanaka has retired following the conclusion of the rematch. Kind of a sad way for his career to end. Cracks had already started to appear before he met Nery, but the PEDs/ tainted meat thing in the 1st clash, losing his title and ending his streak of title defenses, then the failed weight by Nery in the 2nd leaves a bad taste on his only 2 loses.

Pointless rematch. Yamanka is the epitome of a shot fighter, it was obvious lasy time regardless of Nery being juiced. Legs turned to jelly from a short jab.

In the space of a year Nery has gone from nobody to elite at just 23 (you just have to ignore all the cheating bit). He will be a great addition to the already excellent featherweight division (assuming he will quickly need to go up)

Yea I think Yamanaka had initially retired following the first defeat but decided to return after the failed test from Nery and an immediate shot at his old title. The first loss should have been declared a NC for the old champion. His second fight with Moreno was excellent but may have been the last hurrah for both. Before that Solis had him down twice in their fight.

I'm still not sold on Nery, he's been down in previous fights but never seemed heavily hurt, the failed test and weight bullying (on purpose or not) have taken a shine off his two best wins. I think he can make a big impact at 122 if he can make the weight, he might have to go straight to 126.

The WBC slap Neary with an indefinite 'suspension' following his failed attempt to make weight.

Just saw that. Sounds like straw that broke the camels back, or saving face because they made excuses for a dirty fighter. Not like they couldn't have smacked him down when he blew weight.

Impossible to make sense of the W.e B.e C.ollecting.

I doubt they do sh-t, maybe collect a fine. Wait a few months until the heat cools off then remove the so called suspension and everything resumes as normal.

Everything resumes as normal. Nery's suspension ended Sep-1, and he is set to return on Oct-6 against Jason Conoy, for the WBC Silver bantam title.

Will put him right in line for the Rau'see/ Oubaali winner.
