    Default Goodbye Cotto...

What was his best win and his worst loss?

I felt the Cheater that took his first loss changed Cotto as a fighter and we will never know how much more of a great he would have been.

Losses against Floyd and PAC were justified but the catchweight would have mentally/physically affected Cotto in the PAC fight.

How would you define Cotto as a fighter?

Big Cotto fan at 140lb and wished he fought Hatton or Floyd at the weight.

Cotto did well at welterweight but was small for the higher weights when he re-invented himself. I did not like the way he avoided GGG and took the money fight against Canelo.

Cotto did great against Floyd and his fight against a peak Manny was an exciting fight to watch.

Cotto avenging his loss against Marg was great to watch.

    Great memories.

The man put on some great fights and I will miss him. He had a shot against Floyd but he took the Middle rounds off and then it was too late. I just have nothing bad to say against cotto and he doesn't seem punch drunk in interviews I've seen

    Good things:

He fought anybody and everybody. Except at 160 where he didn't belong.
He was exciting every time out. You knew you were in for an action-packed fight.
He knew to reinvent himself, and adapted well throughout his career.
He remained stoic and classy throughout.
He avenged his "loss" against the cheating scumbag.
He learned English to make himself more marketable.

I loved the fight with Ricardo Torres. Cotto showed a yard of guts in that fight.

I was a big Cotto fan back in the day. I never disliked him, but I stopped caring for him once he went up to 154 and become somewhat of a prima Donna. But before that, he fought everybody and beat them all. Definitely a legitimate HOF fighter. He will get in because he deserves it and not because it is so easy to get in.

Same here. Some excellent fights, but I have lost interest at 154 and up. I am ignoring this final year as it is not meaningful.

Future hall of famer. Matched pretty tough coming up at 140 but agree with @Master that a fight with Hatton would have been awesome. Continued his success at 147 against some of the best. Took on Margarito when it was the best fight to make in the division. Good luck in retirement Miguel.

I wouldn't really say in style, on his own terms tho.

Cotton was very good. I think his only flaw was not being aggressive enough and backpedaling too much.

    Waaaaaaaaaa

Well anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Cotto. He's been my favorite since early in his career. I'm soooooo sad to see him retire, but I know it's time, and I don't want to see him go out on a bad note. I fell in love with how he just looked like a pitbull wanting to get out of his corner and rip your head off. He would fight anyone, and always gave it his all. His fights were always great to watch, except when he lost to the cheater, That was hard for me to watch, but I was so happy when he got his revenge. He's not Mr. Personality, but I didn't care about that, because he was just all business in the ring, and that is what mattered to me. Plus as a bonus, he's hot . lol

I got a new dog last Feb, and there was no other name for me to give him but Cotto.

Oh, and just because he is retiring, doesn't mean I'm going to retire my signature. That's staying, because I know it annoys some of you guys to have to see his junk.

Vargas really pitching a shut out over 7 with an ugly cut now. Workmanlike show. Side note..something about this Kellerman and Roy chemistry on the mic that makes it a hard listen . Negrete inspired here late in 8th

    WAR Cotto..one last time.
