If you want me to stay Floyd you will have to wait a long time.

    Roy Jones did it well.

Toney on the ropes was superb! Jones Jr was explosive turning off. Benitez and Azumah Nelson master class. Old man version of Holmes made a second career out of it and just ran guys into simple 1-2s all night.

Holmes did it with Mercer, well remembered Spicoli!

    How dumb/limited/inexperience was Ray Mercer?

He was an Olympic gold medalist who had just destroyed an over hyped Tommy Morrison and was viewed as a threat to Evander Holyfield prior to the loss. Holmes was masterful that night, completely befuddling Mercer and nullifying his strength and offense. Great win for Larry in my opinion.

Ray was a tank but I've always thought him a more capable boxer than giving credit for. He wasn't just waiting on bombs with Morrison he was positioning him and dragging his inexperience anchor out before sinking him. The jab of Mercer hurt the best he fought, including Holmes who was rocked across the ring with one in the 1st round.
