WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders revealed he has been blocked on Twitter by Amir Khan after tweeting that Kell Brook would “take him out.”
The 28-year-old, who is renowned for his online trolling of former opponent David Lemieux, told the story of his spat with Khan at a press conference on Tuesday while promoting his June 23 fight with Martin Murray.
“I only said that Kell Brook would beat him,” declared Saunders, now a gym-mate of Brook’s under the stewardship of Dominic Ingle.
“To me it just shows what a little coward he is, to block me on Twitter over that.”
Addressing the attending media, he continued: “Some might think Martin [Murray] will beat me, I’m not gonna block you on Twitter!”
It appears the tweet in question is likely to be this one that Saunders sent back in January.
“It’s just stupid to do, very childish,” Saunders concluded.
“And Kell Brook would knock him out cold I reckon, just for the record. F*** his Twitter.”
