Hmm. I like that idea. I may begin work on it soon.

Don't be a medialovey dick, This is America, they think Wilder is champ, fair enough. Fair enough some rumour about Stallone pushing it, but mates with Donald? WTF. Why did you not mention Lennox?

Are you actually posting this with a view to getting a medialovey job with the yank/trump/brexit hating BBC?

Trump did good, get politics, especially US politics which has fuck all to do with us Brits, off this site. Jack Johnson deserved it.

Hmmm....... dunno..... must've been when Trump referred to Stallone to "my friend for a long time, Sly....."
Don't know about anybody else, but calling Stallone Donald's mate doesn't seem to be all that far-fetched.

Hilarious that the President that finally got it done was Trump.

Oh don't be so passive aggressive you're just mad because he cancelled the Korean thing.

S4 master nice try man Trump has had casinos going back 30 years and has had price fights in every weight division several times a year and each one of his casinos and is a boxing aficionado. Sorry you're trying to fit the narrative around the fact but I think you're too blind to see it

Not at all. What makes me mad is the continued belligerence, threats and violence towards people that have done him no wrong. You give someone a chance but when they continue to hang out with war crime states and carry out war crimes sympathy tends to evaporate. What you chaps do within your own borders is up to you, but it was leveled at Master that US politics has sod all to do with Brits. Well, that is nonsense considering the impact US policies have on the world. Obama is not responsible for bombing Syria in 2018 or the appointing of John Bolton to positions of influence or to threatening anyone that trades with Iran. That is the behavior of a tyrant. I do not see any sanctions on Israel for massacring Palestinians, yet he continues to bomb Syria whenever he feels like it. Be reasonable Brock and call out tyranny when you see it.

Well this went about as well as expected .

Its about damn time. Johnson was treated like a wet dog. Meanwhile he was dominating to the point of bogus laws being enacted to get rid of him. Imagine that.

I don’t care if anyone disagrees with me but this is extremely stupid. Who cares if he is pardoned? He has been dead for decades and decades. It’s just a dumb formality that someone eventually got around to doing which will have no effect on anybody’s life.

    Whole thing is a joke.

The Johnson family have been begging for a pardon for years...suddenly a fake movie boxer gives the nod and he gets the pardon.

No boxer alive could ever imagine the hate that Jack Johnson went through..even Ali.

Jack Johnson has to be the best ever..changing laws to bring him down..jeez!

It matters that it is recognised that Jack Johnson was wronged. Even if it has been over 100 years.

When Johnson beat Tommy Burns in Sydney Australia to become the first Black Heavyweight Champion the police jumped in and stopped the fight and turned off the film cameras because they didn't want the world to see a Black guy beating a White guy.

JEFFRIES had retired unbeaten in 1905 and insisted he would not come back. A month after Johnson thrashed Burns he confirmed this again, while criticising Burns for defending his title against a black man: “Tommy Burns has his price—$30,000,” said Jeffries. “Burns has sold his pride, the pride of the Caucasian race…The Canadian never will be forgiven by the public for allowing the title of the best physical man in the world to be wrested from his keeping by a member of the African race….I refused time and again to meet Johnson while I was holding the title, even though I knew I could beat him. I would never allow a negro a chance to fight for the world’s championship, and I advise all other champions to follow the same course….All night long I was besieged with telegrams asking me to re-enter the ring. I answer them now as I have answered them hundreds of times: ‘I have fought my last fight’.”

So officially pardoning someone is recognizing their wrong doing rather than just admitting the wrong doing?

Yes it is the best that can be got at this stage. The government will not admit that they did was racist and wrong.

You are like most people. You want an apology even if it’s fake.
