Default Haymon got PBC 52 fight dates in 2019

Momentous deal. He’s no longer buying time. 30 Showtime dates, 10 championship fight dates on Fox and at least 12 dates on FS1.

Everybody is putting on fights now. I like it, but at the same time we need a one channel with all the boxing

This rivals Hearn DAZN deal. More boxing being shown is always a good thing.

This had to happen, Hearn/DAZN have raised the bar so that others have been forced to try and match him.
Great news and we'll almost certainly start to see the young new fighters who usually don't get tv exposure early in their careers.

Now he has a solid PPV platform maybe he'll finally put his best guys together instead of paying them fortunes for crap mismatches.

One major difference is that with DAZN its just $12 a month pay as you go so no extra ppv fees to pay. 👍🏻

"PBC and Fox have finalized a long-term deal for fights to appear on both Fox and FS1 with an annual boxing budget that eclipses $60 million, multiple sources told The Ring.

"The deal, which will be announced Tuesday, will kick off in December; the agreement calls for 10 championship-level fights on Fox, with at least another 12 shows on FS1. That’s to be added to Showtime’s existing budget, also estimated at over $60 million.
These are ground breaking times for Boxing, wonder what AJ makes of this new deal as surely he could have hit the ground running on an already established tv platform instead of fighting on one that's being built around him from scratch, remember AJ is by no means a star in the US yet, he's miles away Infact.

“Between Showtime and Fox, PBC will have a bigger pool of budget money than any other promoter in boxing, including Eddie Hearn with DAZN,” an industry source who was not authorized to speak publicly told The Ring," Coppinger's article stated.

I don't think they can afford to start doing ppv fights, they haven't signed the top fighters they said they were yet and the fact it's only $12 per month with no contract Is their only niche/usp in the market.
They need AJ to go on a big US promo tour, chatshows, news etc Nationwide and get the US market loving him.

Eddie's DANZ lark is irrelevant to us, well, not specifically us, as everyone here ponces streams, but the UK will still have to PPV all the Joshua and big UK events.

    Khan-Brook
    Bellew-Uysk
Whyte-Chisora with "stacked" card will all be PPV.

This Al Haymon Showtime deal is a big kick in the goolies to Eddie though, Haymon has about 200 fighters, including guys like Garcia, Spence and Broner who Eddie was trying to steal.

I think this is probably why he hasn't made the ground he thought he would. This deal will have been in the offing for a while.

From what I’ve read and heard on it there are a few holdups on the DAZN takeover. First that DAZN has an out after 2 years. 2nd is for all the big numbers thrown around it’s being reported their actual boxing budget for 2019 seems to be (if reports are correct) 25 million. This in turn would mean 3 things.

People might not be eager to sign up and not have a platform for Matchroom in the USA in 2 years. Al would have an annual budget 5 times bigger. Al would also have control of the superior PPV platform.

Eddie is no fool though. He must have a rebuttal the problem I see is with his
predilection for lying it will be hard to get American fighters that have options to choose to trust him. He can get the Daniel Jacobs’s of the world but can he attract a Mikey Garcia or Errol Spence. If he can do that we will know he has a worthy response to what Al is doing.

Edit-the question I have is is Eddie willing to overpay fighters for the big picture or will he work deal to deal. His record in purse bids suggest he will go deal to deal. And we know Al is willing to overpay. We’ll see some serious moves or we’ll see Al win it would appear

Well this should cover the next 20 'come backs' of Victor Ortiz at least. Shows made on the graves of former ufc FOX timeslots..that works.

What about all the clashes when both platforms are showing fights at the same time?
It's gonna be well over 20-25 weekends of clashes so boils down to who's got the better fighters who are names in the US and that's Haymon
Looking at the bigger picture he's just fucked Hearn right up stateside
