Default Top rank partners up with frank warren to bring british boxing to espn

Nice move that benefits the US fans who'll get to see the BT Youngblood... Yarde, Dubois etc.

Press Release: Top Rank and Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions announced an exclusive, multi-year licensing agreement that will bring the best events from the United Kingdom and Europe to boxing fans in the United States and Canada on ESPN platforms.

The first show under the agreement will be Warren’s Oct. 6th show at Morningside Arena Leicester in Leicester, England. That main event will feature Jack “El Gato” Catterall (22-0, 12 KOs) against Ohara Davies (18-1, 14 KOs) at Light welterweight. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Nicola Adams (4-0, 3 KOs) and young heavyweight knockout artist Daniel Dubois (8-0, 8 KOs) will also see action on the bill. Dubois will face his toughest test to date against Kevin Johnson.

“We are committed to securing the biggest and best events from around the world,” said Top Rank President Todd duBoef. “Our long-term objective is to showcase global talent and to expose the next generation of boxing stars. Frank Warren is a legend with a keen eye for building talent, and his elite stable has proven to resonate with North American fans.”

"I am absolutely delighted and honored to announce this landmark multi-year deal with Top Rank that will see my promotions going forward featured regularly on the ESPN platforms in the U.S. and Canada,” Warren said. "This was a very attractive opportunity to us due to the level of exposure our stable of fighters will benefit from by being showcased by one of, if not, the biggest broadcaster in sport. Boxers like Terence Crawford and Vasiliy Lomachenko appear on ESPN, and our boxers will be sharing a broadcast home with them going forward. The agreement will open doors for them to get their name known coast to coast in North America and eventually become stars there.”

Warren, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008, has been promoting cards for nearly 40 years and has one of the sport’s deepest rosters. He has helped turn many of the United Kingdom’s biggest stars into fan favorites across the pond. Ricky Hatton, Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe, Prince Naseem Hamed, and Amir Khan all fought under the Warren banner.

I saw this. Like it a lot. It does help us US fans. I like that boxing is getting a bit more available. It’s just unfortunate that everybody is fighting each other so it’s on so many different platforms

Doesn't seem like BT Sports customers in the UK are getting much back in the way of the Top Rank fights being aired free.
Boxnation used to show loads of Top Rank fights but it's still a pay monthly channel at the end of the day.
Much better news for US fans than UK fans according to the above press release.

That press release wasn't written by Warren's firm much. Arum does about 30 shows a year in the US alone, so far this year Warren has done 2? 3? on BT with one scheduled. Bob has "partnered up" with Frank to provide American fans with Nicola Adams, Bradley Skeete and Jack Catterall.

More exposure is awesome but are we really lacking the ability to 'see' British boxing . I'm just wondering about Top Rank as it seems it has more arms extended than a drunken school reunion. ESPN has 3,4 channels on a cable tier, the espn+ app, and a new mega contract with UFC for home channel..but they still cannot guarantee that boxing fans will see their basic cable card actually start on time. Interesting to see how they air these but we're fortunate to have the ease of globe trotting International fight exposure now. Point..click..who's this guy . Back in the day you stuffed VHS tapes in a huge envelope and traded for them
