He's not fighting MMA, he's not going to fight anyone he could possibly lose to although it would be REAL HA-HA funny if he got sparked out by an MMA fighter which is exactly why it's NOT going to happen.
I would love it if Floyd does get flattened. Just love it.

Apparently Floyd is earning 88mil for this. Nice bit of change. No way this isn't boxing.

    Mayweather statement

Now that I am back on U.S. soil after a long and disappointing trip to Tokyo, I now have the time to address you, my fans and the media in regards to the upcoming event on December 31st that was recently announced.

First and foremost, I want it to be clear that I, Floyd Mayweather, never agreed to an official bout with Tenshin Nasukawa.

In fact (with all due respect) I have never heard of him until this recent trip to Japan.

Ultimately, I was asked to participate in a 9 minute exhibition of 3 rounds with an opponent selected by the "Rizen Fighting Federation". What I was originally informed of by Brent Johnson of "One Entertainment" was that this was to be an exhibition put on for a small group of wealthy spectators for a very large fee.

This exhibition was previously arranged as a "Special Bout" purely for entertainment purposes with no intentions of being represented as an official fight card nor televised worldwide.

Once I arrived to the press conference, my team and I were completely derailed by the new direction this event was going and we should have put a stop to it immediately.

I want to sincerely apologize to my fans for the very misleading information that was announced during this press conference and I can assure you that I too was completely blindsided by the arrangements that were being made without my consent nor approval.

For the sake of the several fans and attendees that flew in from all parts of the world to attend this past press conference, I was hesitant to create a huge disturbance by combating what was being said and for that I am truly sorry.

I am a retired boxer that earns an unprecedented amount of money, globally, for appearances, speaking engagements and occasional small exhibitions.

That really was the most pathetic drivel ever written and worst excuse in the history combat sport ever.

I don’t think I’m buying his excuse. Maybe it’s legit, but are you telling me that not one person from his team came out before now and stopped the rumors? It seems like they would have had a talk with the people at Rizin right after the press conference if they were this misinformed and then let the public know that it was all a big misunderstanding.

So either Floyd didn’t get certain demands he wanted, or it was just another ploy to keep himself relevant.

What was the “new direction” it was going anyways? He doesn’t really say anything there... If it was a case where it wasn’t going to be purely boxing and the guy would be allowed to kick him, i dont think anyone would expect anything less than him running like the wind... 3 rounds of boxing against the guy for a decent payday in a new market sounds like exactly the kind of thing he’d want it to be though....

That doesn't sound like Floyd talking. First of all he said "unprecedented". That's a 5-syllable word.

Is it even worse that he wanted it as an exhibition and not even a legit kickboxing thingy non mma event. Sounds like Mayweather couldn't grease the wheels with all that status in Japan, got called on it and he picked up his toys and went home.
