99-90, 98-91, 100-89.... Gamboa.
Well that's it for me. Felt like a one-man band tonight.
Last impressions were of JuanMa back in the ring announcing plans to meet Gamboa early next year. Of course I'd back JuanMa, but I just don't see where he has any realistic chance against the slick Gamboa.
Good night all.
Yuriorkis Gamboa is still a favourite of mines. Excellent boxing skills and very enjoyable to watch. Think he was thrown into a fight against Crawford like a lamb to the slaughter.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
He always puts on a good show, win or lose. Gotta give him credit for beating a good, tough, young kid. That "almost" dual knockdown in Round 5 was amazing. JuanMa hit Beltran with a hard right which buckled his knees, while Beltran simultaneously his JuanMa with his own right which staggered him back toward the ropes. They almost both went down, but Beltran recovered enough to leap on JuanMa and made JuanMa weather the storm a bit. It got kind of sloppy toward the end, but hard to fault Beltran who was not just trying to survive, but still loading up with some Hail Marys just in case he got lucky. Good win for JuanMa, though.
Good stuff Tito and thanks for the info. Nothing quite like a solo rbr but good to have them as it's all saved and available. Especially for when Gamboa gets his next super fight . I swear it feels like he's had 9 lives. Wonder how much they are working to making him and JuanMa as I thought they were supposed to fight yeeeears ago. With you on JuanMa, wish he'd get out while he's still able to form sentences. The man has taken some lasting wear and tear.
