Still can’t believe he is so popular with everyone knowing he’s a racist. I mean I can but it seems like it would have the qualifier that they like how he fights.
Kovalev is a good family man and not a racist.

Some of those who accuse him of being racist are evidently racist though, they hate all non-black boxers.
Name one person other than that Denilson guy, one

If I disliked every fighter who I disagreed with I wouldn’t like any fighter. There are few who I do think are just scum that I can’t root for. Broner is a fighter like that. I love Kovalev the fighter and what he thinks doesn’t change that.

oh and Oscar Valdez returning! Really looking forward to it.

    This.

The mental thing really kicks in here. Kov was a bully in the ring, and now he's been stopped twice. Once by low blows sure.... but the Alvarez one was completely legit and came out of nowhere.
Confidence, Alvarez will come in sky-high.... whereas Kov will come in with doubts in the back of his head.

That’s all I was saying, you qualified it beautifully.

Lmao kovalev isn't a racist, and you've got nothing to support that assertion.

I don't think his knees are quite there anymore. I expect it to go the same way as the last fight.

Facing felony charges for allegedly punching a girl in the face ? Starting to hope Alvarez irons him out again if it even comes off.

Yuck. In June, so that was well before he fought Alvarez the first time, weird how the courts work so differently sometimes. If he was able to fight then I guess no reason to think this won’t go ahead

Sergey Kovalev charged with felony assault; Feb. 2 bout with Alvarez still a go

TMZ Sports reported on Friday morning that former unified light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm) for allegedly punching a woman last June.

Kovalev (32-3-1, 28 KOs) was scheduled to meet Eleider Álvarez in a rematch for the WBO title on Feb. 2. Alvarez upset Kovalev back in August with a seventh-round TKO to capture the title. A source has told Sporting News the fight is scheduled to proceed as originally planned.

Sources told TMZ Sports that the woman claims the alleged incident happened on June 9 at a party in which two-time 175-pound champion hit on her. The woman states she initially turned down his overture and left the scene. She alleges that the attack took place at her cabin in Big Bear after Kovalev and a friend followed her back to her cabin. The woman reported the incident to police in Big Bear, Calif. at 12:45 a.m. Kovalev was arrested shortly thereafter and released later the same day on $50,000 bond. Kovalev appeared in court on August 27, three weeks after the Alvarez fight and entered a plea of not guilty.

The woman also claims she suffered a severely broken nose, a concussion and a displaced disk in her neck as a result of the incident.

The 35-year-old is due back in court in March 11 at 8:30 a.m. for a pre-preliminary hearing followed by a preliminary hearing on March 14 also at 8:30 a.m. If found guilty, the Russian could face up to four years in prison.

Extremely unfortunate if true because I’m a big fan of his. I will wait until the verdict is determined until I make a real judgement though.
