Default Fury-Wilder Off. Who do they fight now?

Joshua/Fat Baby/Whyte/Brezeale/Parker/Del Boy and possibly Uysk/Povetkin are all tied up.

Who is left that is "credible" for Wilder and Fury?

    Grandad Ortiz?
    Kownacki?
    Pulev?

Fury signed with Arum/ESPN (rival/enemy promoters and network in America).

They held a big press conference yesterday kicking all the fans in the nuts by announcing we now have Fury (Arum/ESPN), Wilder (Al/Showtime) and AJ (Eddie/DAZN).

    Good luck making them fights.

Arum is saying it goes ahead in September with a fight in between. Wilder saying Whyte is his back up plan

If the rematch doesn’t happen, Wilder stated: “We’re doing our own thing, we’re still gonna have that date. Who knows who it’s gonna be?
“It could be [Dominic] Breazeale, it could be [Adam] Kownacki, it could be [Dillian] Whyte.”

So it could end up being Wilder and Tyson fighting over Whyte after pretending that Joshua would have to pick up the scraps from their table. Massive own goal really from Fury if he really is about legacy. He could get sparked by a non belt holder and blow his chance of fighting AJ for the belts he walked away from. Same could happen to Wilder. Whyte is more than capable of sparking him clean out.

None of these guys nowadays are about legacy no matter what they say. the figure being banded around of £80 Million for a 5 fight deal are clearly inflated to add drama! but even a fair proportion of that is enough for any of these top Boxers to not give a flying fuck about their Legacy.
Fury dines out on this "Lineal" stuff, but let's be honest, an £80 Million deal for someone who isn't even a World Champion is ridiculous at best .
Kinda can't blame the fighter for taking these crazy deals, we all would wouldn't we?

Fury can't be blamed for taking that deal, why does he need Wilder when AJ is the biggest fight on the planet for everyone? He's obviously thought fuck risking a loss when I can build into a match with AJ down the road.

He also said Wilder can't rip him off anymore (which is a shame, as that means the charity he donated his last purse to obviously got shafted as well).

That TBV interview is unbearable, the hosts and majority of callers are always braindead thick but fuck me.

Of course, but you can't then pretend it's all about making the fight when you end up scuppering the deal by signing with someone who is in no rush to get it done.

No I can't blame any fighter for taking such a deal. We'd do the same.

I think fury needs to be in with the best to bring out the best in him. A Pulev etc match up isn't going to do that for him.

But I think Joshua is an easier fight for him than wilder and at moment think wilder is the only man who could beat Fury - and I'd still pick Fury to win on points on a rematch, just the chance of a ko if Wilder lands which he knows he can
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate

I don't think it's just the UK to be fair, it's a global thing. I mean, Al Haymon is the biggest "Roadblock" in Boxing. "sign for me and fight once in a blue moon!" or "Give up your World Title and fight some meaningless guy instead!"

Back in the day NOBODY thought Lewis v Tyson could happen but HBO & Showtime were able to do a deal.
I can see this being delayed simply because ESPN won't want their new signing Fury kicking off his 3 fight deal with a loss to Wilder.
That totally devalues their investment in Fury and his pulling power drops massively for the remaining 2 fights.
    Hope im wrong.

Deontay Wilder claims Tyson Fury rematch can still take place after ESPN deal

“I’m a free agent, I can fight anyone, I don’t necessarily have to fight on the networks that I’m on, I can fight anywhere."
