Only for a few minutes. The battle monologue was boring. Episode 3 was better as Alan is now settling in but it's not classic Alan. Not my words, but the chaps on this forum.

Episode 4 was good trying to set up Monty Don and the delay with satellite when talking to the reporter was hilarious.

My conclusion is that it was a very weak series and I say this having just re-watched the full series of Knowing Me, Knowing You. It is so much more funny and Alan himself is a complete prick, but it's naively charming. You contrast it with the new series where the genuine laughs are few and by riffing a kind of Office/parody of a genuine chat show it just falls horribly flat. It just isn't funny and this is the first time I have said that about a series of Alan Partridge. It has its moments, but Alan Partridge is one of the greatest characters ever produced in comedy. 'A few moments' is simply not up to par. It is fitting that he has fallen flat when the BBC is utter shite these days too.

    I enjoyed it!

Alan's interaction with Ruth Duggan, the woman who does not like him and never agrees to anything he says, is very funny.

Episode 6 was very good when he had to do the show alone with a little help from Simon.
