12 Steps The Key For Boxing Beauty
IFBA Lightweight Champion Mia Rosales-St. John insists the easiest to quit smoking is by using the 12 steps program, saying,"Go to Smokers Anonymous meetings and use the 12 steps program, it really does work."
St. John has also thrown her support towards the smoking ban which comes into effect July 1 in England and thinks that the sooner other countries follow suit the better.
"I totally support these sorts of bans, I hate smoking and the sooner more of these bans are put into place everywhere the better it will be for everyone," she commented.
St. John, who used to be managed by Don King, became the first Mexican on the cover of Playboy when she posed for photos in November 1999. St. John is not ashamed of this as she believes that the pictures were done tastefully saying, "The main motivation behind the Playboy pictures was to be the first Mexican on the cover; it is something I am proud of. I ensured the pictures maintained a boxing theme, plus the shoot did help my career and of course there was the financial incentive of it."
Despite her impressive Boxing record, which includes 43 wins out of 52 fights, Mia is in the belief that a lot of boxing fans are starting to watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship just because it is so much more violent. As she reveals, More...

Ajetovic, 13-1-1 (6), originally from Beoein, Serbia, had matriculated against journeymen in the UK until stepping up in class to face future European Union light middle titlist Christophe Canclaux in a losing effort 14 months ago in Monaco. More...

Ann Wolfe, 24-1 (16), is one of the premier Women boxers in the world, having won world titles at light middle, super middle and light heavyweight since turning professional in 1998.
At 36 years of age, Wolfe is still dangerous, but the aging lioness is aware that her time is coming and has become frustrated with the politics behind boxing. SaddoBoxing spoke exclusively with the native of Waco, Texas, who also trains light middleweight prospect James Kirkland, and is never at a loss for words.
SaddoBoxing: Is it tough to stay busy between fights when you have a long layoff?
Ann Wolfe: "No. I had surgery on my shoulder. I don’t never layoff; I train every day. Right now I’m walkin’ around at 170 and 172. I have about 30 amateurs. I own a gym and my number one goal is to keep kids out of the street."
SB: Emmanuel Steward told me that when fighters also train others, it makes them better fighters. Do you find this to be true?
AW: "When I train other people? Yes. I’m a better trainer than fighter. I have some kids that are coming up that have that kind of potential. I want to be the first female to take a male to a world title. I already know it’s going to happen. If Kirkland keeps going at the rate he’s going, he’ll be a champ." More...

Jones Hails Smoking Ban
Midlands based light heavyweight Lee Jones Jr., 2-0, believes the impending smoking ban this summer will give people extra incentive to quit, "I think that for those who are almost strong willed enough to quit but not quite, the public ban will give them that extra push to stop," he said.
"Like all young men, I bowed to peer pressure and I did try it aged around 12 or 13 but I had one and hated it," Jones continued. "From that day on I never ever smoked again. From what people tell me, everyone reacts the same way the first time they smoke - I honestly can't imagine why anyone ever smokes twice."
The Telford born competitor continued, "People continue to smoke even though they know that it causes all sorts of diseases and ultimately causes premature death - if that is not enough of an incentive to quit then nothing is!"
Jones Jr. points to the examples of Mexican Ricardo Mayorga and James Toney as examples of why boxers shouldn't even consider smoking,
"There are at least two high profile boxers who do smoke - Ricardo Mayorga who is a former welter and light middle weight world champion and James Toney who is a former middle, super middle and cruiser weight world champion. Both have been criticized for their lack of discipline in training and this is why they have never really achieved as much as they could have", he said. More...
