Tuesday Night at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, England, Frank Maloney hosted a fight night headlined by Nottingham boxer Jason Booth's defence of the British Super Bantamweight title against Rocky Dean of Thetford.
Both men keep busy as they start this 12 round contest, but their heads come together frequently and by the end of the first round, Booth has already sustained a cut to the forehead.
Dean has a better second round and the crowds cheer ‘Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!’ Sky Sports Statistics reveal that during the second round alone - Booth threw 112 punches with an 18% success rate, as opposed to Dean's 66 punches that had a better success rate of 22%.
Round four sees Booth land a sickening body-punch to Dean's torso. But Dean starts the fifth trying the same tactic and lands some short body-punches. Mid-way through the frame, he backs Booth up on the ropes but Booth retaliates with a lovely right hand to the face followed moments later by another peach of a right and he starts to ‘pick off' Dean. Friday night at the Newham Leisure Centre in the East End of London, England, Frank Maloney hosted a fight night headlined by Ian ‘Dappa’ Napa’s first defence of the European Bantamweight title against Algerian born Frenchman Malik Bouziane.
The taller Bouziane received good support from supporters who had travelled over to see him, but he looked serious as he waited in the ring for his opponent.
The champion entered the ring wearing trademark black shades, flanked by trainer Brian Lawrence and Napa’s two belts, the European and Lonsdale, held aloft.
Bouziane comes out and straight away throws the first punch. Keeping busy with the left jab - Bouziane looks sharp. Napa dips low to target the body of his French-Algerian opponent. More...

On Friday night at the Robin Park Arena, Wigan, England Andy Bell faced Lee Haskins in a British Super Flyweight title contest on a Frank Maloney promoted fight night billed as "The Explosive Thin Men!" Bell was making his first defence of the title he won in March against Stoke's Chris Edwards.
Bellie, aka "The Iceman", enters the ring wearing Doncaster colours of red and white alongside trainer Matt Scriven, who is himself a pro boxer. Haskins - fighting out of Chris Sanigar's gym in Bristol - has won 17 of his 19 contests.
Just inside the first minute of round one, both men land on the floor in a wrestling type move. Little did we know that this would be the first of many wrestling falls thought out this contest.
Haskins has the more open-style of boxing, leaving the upper part of his body exposed and flicking the straight right up his taller opponent's head. Both men land on the canvas again in a tangled bundling over - but Bell reaches down with both gloves to help his opponent up off the canvas. A messy first round. More...

Promoter Frank Maloney returns to Robin Park Centre in Wigan, England tonight, Friday, November 7, with an evening of competitive fights, featuring the best young talent fighting out of the UK today.

Bell has won seven straight, including the intense firefight against Chris Edwards eight months ago to win the British belt, but has yet to meet an opponent as crafty and experienced as Haskins, who must win at Robin Park if he is to realize ambitions to compete at European level. Ian ‘Dappa’ Napa had his toughest test yet last night when he challenged big-punching Belgian Carmelo Ballone for the European Bantamweight title at the famous York Hall, Bethnal Green, in the East End of London.
The likable Hackney lad entered the ring wearing his usual dark shades and with a female entourage holding his British title belt aloft. The ‘Belgian Butcher’ Ballone had plenty of support from his own fans who’d made the trip to London. Loud horns were blasting out around the York Hall as he stepped coolly into the ring.
Ballone, the taller of the two having a long-reaching southpaw stance, had the better start - with Napa adopting his usual tight, stiff, defence and being more cautious as he settles in. More...
