WBA Super Middle champ Mikkel Kessler´s defence against German challenger Danilo Haussler appears now to be on for October 25 somewhere in Germany.

Danish media have speculated in Kiel or Flensburg, where Kessler resided for a brief spell, as possible sites but according to Sauerland Event´s CEO, it won´t be in either of these towns close to the Danish border. German paper Bild Zeitung wrote Friday that the German Federation, the BDB, which holds the membership to the EBU, has revoked the license from Arena Box Promotion. No exact reason is given, but it´s no secret there´s been tension all along coming to a head during recent shows in Spain and Turkey, where Arena had the Latvian Federation as supervisors. More...

Mikkel Kessler weighed in at a perfectly fit 76.1 kg/167.75 lb for tonight´s WBA title fight in Copenhagen against Dmitri Sartison, who came in at 75.9 kg/167.25 lb.

Sartison looked smaller though, both in height and weight, as the two had a short staredown and then smiled for the cameras. The WBA have ordered the winner to face Danilo Haussler inside 120 days with a 60-40 split of the purse in case Kessler wins and 50-50 if Sartison should pull of a huge upset. More...
